Donut Factory - Where is the good service? Thursday, 19 July 07

CASE CLOSED

Had received an e-mail from Donut Factory. Appreciation to Mr. Gunter Rahim for his professionalism in handling this matter.

I’m back, but not really happy I had to replace my yummy and camwhore pictures to a complaint post instead. Thanks to someone who ruined my entire OFF DAY

Following the current tremendous success of Donut Factory, the second outlet opened at Suntec City just recently. Being an avid lover of their donuts, I went there on 18 July 07 @ 1615 hours with Ying Ying. As usual, the queue started growing tremendously even before I reached there. When it was our turn (finally), she was telling me that she wanted to take pictures of the pretty and delicious donuts for her friends to admire (Donut Factory, be flattered!). Not long after, this employee by the name of Serene shouted at the top of her voice.

“Excuse me, here cannot take photo hor!”

Note the stupid Singlish at the end of the sentence. Upon hearing that, the people around us started gossiping. Then, she shoved and pushed the poor Ying Ying MORE THAN TWICE as she was standing near a tiny walkway to the shop Can’t she be a little more polite and at least say “Excuse Me”? I was pretty flabbergasted by her extreme rude attitude to us! We have been standing there for nearly an hour to get their donuts, and there she was, giving us a disgusted look all the time! She whispered something to one of her colleagues and kept giving us the glares every now and then, right until we left the shop She looked as if she’s gonna devour us anytime!

We were really taken aback by that Like hello? She was shouting at the top of her voice and made us so embarassed. Doesn’t she know what is by being polite? At least to your customers, right? Ying Ying was saying, "She think she work at Donut Factory very big ah?" Angry and childish thoughts by a teenager, but somehow I feel that she might be right.

  • If there is a NO-PHOTOS policy, why isn’t there any notices around the shop to announce to everyone? If you are really strict about it, make a clear cut to everyone.
  • Making their customers embarassed is the last thing to ever think of! Duh!
  • Customers are always right! Even if we had did something wrong, at least tell us nicely. Isn’t it? Do you have to broadcast to everyone?
  • So, where’s the good customer service? You guys paid thousands of dollars to hire such a rude employee?

On a side note, Ying Ying was telling me that on her previous visit, she witnessed that girl using vulgarities on her colleagues. If that is the case, why is she still there? Ruining the good image of Donut Factory?

I’m searching for the email of Donut Factory. If anyone of you has it, please let me know! I’m so gonna get an apology from that rude girl named Serene for ruining my entire day

Serene… isnt she used to be ur best pal who turned *ahem*…LOL =PPP

I totally agreed with ya on places that are not allowed to take photos, to have signs to warn the publics instead of using verbal announcements…

Once i was caught taking pics in the Esplande by 1 of the Usher during a concert. I was not only being told not to take any pics, I also had to del all the taken pics in front of him (ARGH! Damn ps).

I am very certainly and extremely sure that there wasnt any sign saying “No Photo Allowed”. Gd thing the usher was polite and all. If not… HA! He will get it from me 1 time gd 1.

Wa! That’s so rude! After queueing for so long and you get such treatment, that’s really unfortunate.

oh god, where is the good services gone off to these days??? I can’t stand services like that, most of the time I’ll end up boycotting that particular shop. *oops* :P I agree with that NO-PHOTO sign, if the customers are not allowed to take any photos they should have a sign to make it clear to their customers! and of coz, using Singlish at their customers is a bit wth. There’s no more that GEMS thank you card scheme that Singapore used to conduct, the service outside is getting worse and worse each day actually. =.=

I believe this kind of service should be complained right to the head office. This kind of ppl just throwing away the face of their own company. *duh*

She whispered something to one of her colleagues and kept giving us the glares every now and then, right until we left the shop

Sounds like u and ur friend actually stolen something like that. Such ppl are horrible. Geezzz

Wah, Serene - my mum’s name hahaha!
If you complained, you did the right thing xD

Oh my goodness, how can people be so rude nowadays?!! Argh.. I don’t like places with bad services, I wouldn’t go back the 2nd time; no matter how good the food is unless the worker is fired.. keke.. But i’ve been to shop that does have signs that strictly no photos are to be taken.. If they don’t usually should be okay to take photos, I mean photos are evidence too that you’ve been there bought it and eat it…

Hmm does anyone know of munchy doughnuts? cos it’s near my school at causeway point but I have no ideas what flavour they have except peanut and the oreo crush. Hopefully can pre-order, the queue damn long and by the time I get to buy, most of them have run out.

  15. CLon 06 Aug 2007 at 12:11 pm { Quote }

can donut factory improves the buying experience for customers?
till now i have yet to eat the donuts! they should consider adopting MOs burger style whereby the staff will take dwn the orders from the queueing customers, issue them the queue no. (get them to pay if worry they do not come back for it). the staff then pass the order to kitchen to prepare instead of making the customers queue so long hours and disrupt other shoppers in the mall with that snakey queue!

wow…i guessed that lady is darn stressed over the queues
cant really blame her … she’s human after all …
but that doesnt mean she cant offer you good service!
