Love is in the Air Wednesday, 20 February 08

For me, everyday is Valentine’s Day. As I believe in the mutual faith and togetherness But still, 14 February is not a day to be missed and forgotten

This sets me thinking, will it still be the same 10, 20 or even 50 years down the road? How many of you would really stay through thick and thin with your other half? Even if he/she had been unfaithful to you? The answer is uncertain.

Action speaks louder than words. You might be getting all confident right now and that you would definitely forgive them for their infidelity. BUT would you really do so when the fact and truth is slapped hard right in your face? I don’t know my own answer either

People say, things will be different the moment you get married. Romantic moments, surprises, sweet nothings?! Will there even be any after the vow of marriage? I’ve heard lots of negative comments from the friends around me and it gives me the shiver whenever I think about it. I don’t want that to happen to me! I want to be extremely blissful and be a loving couple even when I turn 60. Being together is not just for the sake of spending time, but to love, trust, forgive, forget and treasure those efforts that are put in to maintain the relationship.

Initially, we wanted to meet up at Vivo and give each other a grace period of 1 hour to buy the gift. But something cropped up and we had to forgo our plan

1. Box of Hearts

124 hearts I’ve folded to represent the 124th day we’ve been together

Sometimes I wonder if guys would really appreciate us doing such things for them. Like folding hearts, cranes, stars or whatever impractical stuff. Do you guys even look at them every now and then and thinking about all the effort we’ve put into doing all these? Or simply threw them in a corner to collect webs?

2. Chocolate Cupcakes

This is the very first time I tried baking all by myself. From sourcing the recipe online, getting all the necessary items ready and eating the final product

Equipments and ingredients needed to bake the cupcakes Can you imagine I traveled all the way to Bukit Timah just to get them?!

The mixture

All lined up and ready to be baked!

Happily baking in the oven

Ready to be consumed! But it’s a little too hard as I’ve added in too much flour FAILED ATTEMPT! I shall do better the next time, I hope haha

3. Greeting Card

Greeting card that allows you to record any voice messages. Innovative eh?!

4. Dinner @ Aerin’s

I have to say this as I felt that we are being treated like dirt from the people of this restaurant. I can’t provide any nice pictures as I feel that everything sucks just like the quality of this picture. No Photoshop done to this. I called up Aerin’s more than one month in advance to make a reservation on that significant day. And at the same time, I drop them a mail to let them know about the reservation. The reply from the manager came after 3 weeks I wrote that mail. Thus, I told her I had already called them up weeks ago. Since then on, I had received at least 5 calls from her asking me about the confirmation of my reservation. And everytime, I gave her the assurance that I would definitely turn up on that day.

When I reached there, I told the usher I had reserved a table but he gave me a kuku face and told me that they don’t take in reservations. I clarified with him and he flipped through the reservations list and found my name on it. No apologies was given and he acted as if nothing had happened. He led us to a table where two plants are seriously blocking the way and swaying in my guy’s direction every now and then. The full view of the escalator and watching people going up and down makes me giddy. The Chicken Cacciatore I had ordered was tasteless and instead of tomato sauce, it was tomato water.

As the saying goes, 一分钱,一分货。 You get what you pay for. But I believe for the effort I’ve put in and the amount we spent, we definitely deserve better treatment. I’ve written a feedback to them and looking at the efficiency they gave the first time, I doubt they will give me the reply within this month If I knew Miss Clarify Cafe had an on-going Valentine’s promo at a mere S$60, I wouldn’t waste my time and trip going to that sucky place

Same goes to Indulgz. The person in charge don’t even bother giving me a reply after I told her that I am not going for the package. Reviews written by other bloggers seemed to be giving them the red sign too.

That famous blogger must have been bribed for writing good reviews for them

I felt cheated A very bad experience during Valentine’s, but I’m feeling much better now. 大人有大量
