We Have Been Threatened Sunday, 9 March 08

Update: Due to some internal controversy, I’ve decided to stop updating this post of what actually happened. People cannot be trusted. Just wanted to say that it involves that woman and another third party. That’s it. We have no issues and have nothing to do with other people’s business. Case closed.

We received a mysterious letter which only bore our unit number. It also comes with a woman’s photo, name, contact number and a piece joss paper for the dead :x

The handwritten Mandarin characters clearly states ???? or loosely translated as “Do not offend me”. No full address, no stamp and no addressee’s name on the letter. It shows that this person made his/her way here, dump it into the letterbox and walked away freely just like that. It really send shivers down the spine.

I wonder which insane person had the nerve to curse our family in such a way. No one in our family knew this woman at all. Was this letter supposed to be sent to her? Could it be a form of misidentification? Mum is seriously worried for our safety.

It makes me really angry that such a thing should happen in our family, even if it is not intended to address to us in the first place.

If you are unhappy with someone, just tell him/her straight in the face and stop doing such discreet actions to hurt others. Or if you have a screw loose in the head and this is the only way to make you appease, at least do your homework properly before you mail out the letter wth

Mum sought my advice and will call the number stated on the piece of paper tomorrow. I certainly hope this issue will be resolved asap.

    It’s a common tactic by Ah Longs who are looking to collect money. They’ll haress neighbors of the people who owe them money. Just report this case to the police. Send it in for fingerprint dusting.

    Never mind calling the phone number – call the police and start taking notes of the places, dates and times that these incidents occurr.

    yeah agreed, call & report to the police :) they’ll handle the case.

    maybe that person mail to the wrong person?
    anyhow dump without checking.
