Dear Management of K Box KTV Pte Ltd,
On 12 August 2008 @ approximate 6pm, I headed down to your branch at Orchard Cineleisure Level 8 for a karaoke session. Upon my arrival there, I passed the cake which I had bought for my friend’s birthday earlier to one of your staff. I wanted him to keep it in the fridge for me for the time being. He then asked me, “Is yours an ice-cream cake?” I said no and wondered why he had to ask me that question.
He guided me to Room 10 where two of my friends were already seated comfortably. He took my order and should have left by then, but proceeded to ask us loudly (which includes the birthday girl) that if we wanted to opt for keeping the cake in the fridge. Like hello? Any one with COMMON SENSE should know that cakes have to be kept refrigerated?! Why is he asking the obvious??? Is that the reason why he enquired whether it is an ice-cream cake or not? If it’s an ice-cream cake, he is going to keep it in the fridge and if it’s not, he is NOT going to keep it in the fridge? Is that what he meant?
Nearing to the end of the karaoke session, I went to the counter to request for the cake to be served to us. I even reminded your staff to clear the plates and trash on our table. One of your staff came but only managed to clear a few plates and left the rest scattered around on the dirty table. Which part of my request is not clear, I wonder?
Thereafter a lady came in to tell us that “The cake was already like that when we took it out from the box,” and proceeded to place a ruined cake on the table. Was she trying to tell us that it was our fault for that? I am sure that I had handled the cake with the utmost care before I handed it over to your staff. I was already fuming and took back the box to examine the inside. There was no signs of the cake getting smudged IN the box, it was really CLEAN. Thus, it was clear that your staff had accidentally ruined the cake but refused to admit it.
I was seriously upset that night. I didn’t expect things to go awry. Such simple requests could not even be done properly by your staff. A surprise for my friend ended up RUINED AND SCREWED UP due to the insensitivity, ignorance, and negligence of your staff. I would expect a huge organization like yours, and with more than 10 outlets to be more professional. After all, I bet A LOT of people actually celebrated their birthdays in K Box. Your staff should know how to handle such situations.
I am not trying to be mean or extremely demanding. But surely I deserve a good explanation from your side?
Yours sincerely,
A very unhappy and grumpy customer
Update: Here’s the reply from Kbox’s management:
My reply to them:
They came back with this reply:
Seriously, which part of my email is not clear?
I’ve given them too many chances. I’d rather patronise Party World or Topone from now on :wiggle:
