Learn Photography Techniques at Sony Digital Workshop Friday, 24 April 09

I have been a proud owner of my Sony Cyber-shot™ T70 for a year plus already. But I have yet to learn the different functions on the camera and also the technique of taking DSLR-like pictures :secret: Many thanks to Blog2u and Sony for breaking the barrier for me. Now, I can proudly say that I am a “professional” photographer. Oops, still need more practice though! :D

This was the camera that I used, Sony Cyber-shot™ T90 in Fuchsia Pink. How could any girl resist that? hee

All thanks to Kenneth Teo the trainer of the workshop, I have learnt the following:-

  • The benefits of ISO and shutter. The higher the ISO, the clearer the picture turns out to be.
  • Always focus on the main object that you are taking a picture of.
  • The usage of the smile shutter function. Very good for candid shots! :hehe:
  • Avoid using normal flash, use the slow sync flash instead. Here are some great examples of pictures that are taken with slow sync flash ;)
  • When taking pictures of food, zoom in till the edge of the bowl/plate and take it at that level. This will ensure that the food looks professionally taken =) And of course, it will impress your friends by making them hungry just by looking at the pictures! :D

Here are some of the shots that I snapped during our hands-on session at Toast Box :bubbles:

Impressive? hee Now I can take more pictures of good food, post it on my blog and make you drool even more. MUAHHAHAA :p

Wow! I’ve been a professional food photographer all these while. I’ve always zoomed in all the way till the plate and snap. I guess it eliminates excess objects that are unsightly and of course, saves time from cropping of the photos! =D
