New Signs in MRT Wednesday, 27 May 09

Have you seen the new reserved signs in the MRT? :shocked1: I noticed them while on my way back from town.

Here’s a closer look on the signage. It reads “Reserved Seating” rather than the previously used “Priority Seat”. I don’t see the need for a change. Do you think the majority of Singaporeans bother about it? :blah: Do these inconsiderate people care? I still see people sitting on those seats even with the signage in full glory. No point making the illustrations and font sizes larger :shift:

Look at Europe, or even our neighboring countries like Taiwan and Hong Kong. Often, these seats would be left empty for those who needed it more. Isn’t that great? We should be ashamed!

Another implementation by LTA are the queue lines on the floor. Does it matter? People shoved their way in and refused to let passengers alight first

Do you think this programme is gonna be successful? I doubt it’s easy to change the spirit of kiasuism in Singaporeans :disgust:

Just remove all seats lah. That will stop the rush to get in without allowing pple to get off first. :)

I think in sg only a minority portion of ppl are willing to give up their seats to those who need it more than them. Just like Channel 8 show “Paris & Milan” it shows the ‘ugly’ side of singaporeans and they did a part on the train issue which was sooo true.

btw.. I am back.. blogging in public!

FoxTwo: Maybe you can propose that to SMRT

Jocelyn: Ya I love that show. Damn funny la. Welcome back! :wink1:

I noticed them too! It’s funny to use “Reserved” instead of priority. Imagine you would have to call up SMRT to ‘book’ that seat and then have someone to attend to you when you arrive at the seat for your specific appointment timing. Redundant.
