Asian Festival of First Films is a prestigious festival that celebrates first-time film and documentary-makers and provides a platform for budding film talent. The festival attracted over 700 entries and Certain Chapters is the sole Tamil nominee out of the 30 nominees from 28 countries. A short independent Tamil film, Certain Chapters (Sila Atthiyayangal) directed by Singaporean Abbas Akbar reveals the world of Indian gangsters in Singapore. Due to its gang theme and explicit use of coarse language, the film has been rated R21 (Restricted to persons aged 21 & above) in Singapore.
