Sponsored Review

Sorry for the lengthy title haha! Here’s another review on VanityTrove. :) VanityTrove’s February 2013 edition is all about love, looking good and prepping yourself for Valentine’s Day! I know I’m late for this review, too busy with work and whatnot hehe. Let’s look at the items included in the trove. :)

Once again, the complimentary Vanity magazine is included in this edition. Filled with various brand write-ups and bloggers’ reviews, it also comes with perforated pages that allows you to redeem certain perks and promotions. Read the online version here.

Iderm Placenta Serum is a potent serum that contains snail extracts that helps to stimulate skin cell renewal and thereby, reinvigorating old cells and generating new healthy cells. The serum comes in a tiny bottle and dropper for easy dispensal of the product. The texture is pretty watery and hence, makes it easy to be absorbed. However, it feels a little oily though. I had used this before lathering on my moisturizer to boost the effect.

Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is a fast-acting serum that evens skin tone and diminishes dark spots to impart overall radiance and luminosity to the skin. I get lots of post-acne marks on my face so I have been using 2 drops per usage, twice daily. The serum is fast absorbing without feeling oily. I do realized that my scars are much lighter after using this. Definitely worth repurchasing!

Phytomer Hydrasea Serum is lightweight, ultra-moisturizing and melts into the skin to hydrate it and quench its thirst, leaving the skin softer and more supple. Possibly more suitable for dry and dehydrated skin types.

I was super elated when I saw Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Cream in the trove. Origins’ products are well known to be formulated with organic and natural ingredients as well as paraben-free. This new anti-aging cream had incorporated raspberry plant stem cell technology to help improve the skin’s appearance and reverse the aging process. The texture of the cream is quite thick, hence I only used it on the drier areas. It has a light scent of berries which makes it pleasant to use.

Caviar is truly a decandent treat but expensive to be consumed daily. LoveMore French Caviar Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Mask is more wallet-friendly and gives the skin a luxurious pampering by improving skin elasticity and firmness, with collagen boost!

Skin79 Super Plus Beblesh Balm is one of the BB Creams I had wanted to try but didn’t had the chance to. The rave reviews are so tremendous that makes me pretty curious about its functions. The texture and consistency is fairly creamy and easy blendable. It melts and blends into my skin pretty well. However, it leaves a greyish tone on my skin after oxidizing. Quite disappointing.

pureDKNY A Drop of Rose is an addition to pureDKNY fragrance family. Made from Turkish rose, magnolia, blackcurrant, cedar, verbena and vanilla, the scent is clean and fresh with sweet hints of roses.

This soap originates from Taiwan and it was a pleasant surprise to find it in the trove. The soaps have medicinal properties and Yuan Honeysuckle Soap is for diminishing heat and dampness.

Camy from VanityTrove had invited us to Kiehl’s Midnight Magic event during the month of February to introduce two products – Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Midnight Recovery Eye. We were treated to snacks and a special magic show, how apt! Check out the photos taken during the event! =)

Met Peggy Chang too and she’s super friendly! :) I will be reviewing the products in a separate entry! Thanks for looking! =)
