Staycations in Singapore are on the rise cos it’s cheaper and more convenient compared to an overseas trip. Even though we own a car, we would usually select hotels that have nearby amenities for convenient access. Of course, the quality standard of the hotel is equally important.
The lovely people from Icon and Days Hotel had invited us for food tasting at 21 on Rajah as well as to enjoy a staycation. I will cover the food tasting in another entry.
Days Hotel is located around Balestier area which is well-known for its good food like Boon Tong Kee, etc. It is also situated beside the long-forgotten Zhongshan Park, where you can take a stroll and enjoy the breeze and scenery.
A stylish and inviting lobby. The hotel has 405 rooms with park and city views, depending on your preference. We checked into the hotel without much hassle as the staff were all smiles and helpful, making sure that everything goes well for us.
Gym facilities available for use but we didn’t bring our sports attires. :x
The rooms are equipped with smart basics such as flat screen TV with cable channel access and complimentary in-room Wifi access. Free Wifi is a plus as we get to access the internet as and when we like woohoo! :) The bedsheets are extremely clean and comfy as well.
A daybed and TV console. The hubby was extremely pleased with the room that he immediately plonked on the bed to watch his favorite kungfu show. -_-
I was quite disappointed that the room didn’t come with a bathtub, but everything was really well-maintained with the necessary basics.
We headed out for lunch at Boon Tong Kee after checking in. It was just a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. There are many eateries around the area and we even went to the nearby Balestier Plaza for some shopping. Or if you prefer getting out of the area, the hotel offers free shuttle bus services to the nearby train station.
We had a hearty breakfast at 21 on Rajah the next morning. All in all, the stay at Days Hotel was pleasant and fuss free. Do check out the hotel if you are around the area.
