InterContinental Singapore – Olive Tree, Lobby Lounge and Man Fu Yuan will be offering their festive buffets and winter solstice menus for this season. Yule log cakes, Christmas roast, bakery, gingerbread and chocolates are some of the stuff you may expect. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport – The hotel offers a selection of festive takeaways and a festive buffet menu at Azur. The glazed ham that we sampled has a sweet crust with tangy and juicy interior. Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre – Tandoor Restaurant has created a festive menu with an Indian touch. The turkey dishes are prepared and marinated with aromatic Indian spices. The festive menu starts from $58++ and is available till 1 January 2014.

We had sampled the Christmas and New Year menu at Cocobolo Poolside Bar + Grill. There were a huge selection of fresh seafood, glazed ham, baked salmon, potato with truffle, crispy pork belly, and the list goes on! Being a seafood lover, the fresh seafood with selections of lobster, prawns, scallops, etc. definitely caught my attention. The New Year’s Eve dinner is priced at S$80++ (adult) and S$40++ (child), BBQ Buffet is priced at S$78++ (adult) and S$40+ (child). They are also organizing a New Year Eve Countdown Party from 10pm-1am on 31 December where there will be games, activities and lucky draw. Definitely an event not to be missed!

21 on Rajah had introduced their new menu as they welcome their new chef Melvin Lim. Still focusing mainly on Mediterranean cuisine, the dishes also have local and Asian influences. We sampled on dishes like Soft Shell Crab Salad, Salmon Gravlax, Australian Beef Cheek Paella and their popular Dark Chocolate Fondant with Berries Coulis. The Beef Cheek was braised to perfection as it was fork tender and bursting with flavors. We ended the meal with their desserts Mango Savarin and Dark Chocolate Fondant which are perfectly satisfying.
Being around the vicinity of Balestier Road, 21 on Rajah is definitely worth a visit.

This pretty bistro is located at the top level of Marina Bay Sands. The hubby and I were there recently to have our anniversary dinner, it was my second time there. Their Au Chocolat Benedict has perfectly poached eggs with crispy bacon and their signature hollandaise sauce that is infused with red wine and dark chocolate. For citrus dessert lovers, don’t forget to try their Kalamansi Meringue Tart!
Hope everyone had a well-rested holiday! 2014 will be my 10th year of blogging. I started my first blog back in 2004 on Blogger.com to pen down my personal thoughts, switched to a couple of domains and finally today, at daintyflair.net. This blog has definitely given me lots of opportunities to know more people, learn more things in life and gain more blogging opportunities.
However at the same time, people started to make comparisons and snide remarks. Let’s not get started on certain people’s professionalism and integrity. Time feels extremely precious to me right now. I wanna spend more time to do the things that I like, learn more handiwork, do more yoga and sports activities, travel around before we start a family or simply just lazing around at home and watch my favorite dramas and shows. May my 2014 be more fruitful and not just about reviews, events and whatnot but more on a personal touch. And, all the best to everyone as well! :)
