LG Optimus with Lee Min Ho

All thanks to Nadia, I get to meet Lee Min Ho IN PERSON! He was in town to promote the latest LG Optimus and the meet and greet session was held at Marina Bay Sands. I still remember the chaos he created when he was here last year. This time round, I was so eager to see him that I even went eBay to search for the sale of the tickets. Glad that I didn’t succumb to that.

We were seated at the VIP section and I had a good view of him. He was all smiley and certainly know how to please his fans. How I wish I were one of the girls who gets the chance to get up close and personal with him!

In fact, most of them were xiao mei meis and they were extremely aggressive! Do you know that they even fought with one another just to get Lee Min Ho’s drawings?! They just snatched and even sat on the floor to bawl. Man I’ll never do that. Image people, image!

Patite Patisserie is brought to you by the folks behind The Patissier (my fave!). Got invited to a preview of the frozen mousse cakes that Patite Patisserie is currently offering.

Available in 3 flavors Chocolate, Mango and Strawberry, we can decorate the topless cakes whichever way we want. Chocolate has a velvety chocolate texture, very moist and lush. Mango has a light tinge of fruity and refreshing taste. Strawberry tasted slightly sourish but still bursting with the strawberry flavor.

Rainbow sprinkles, nuts, M&Ms and chocolate balls for decoration!

Pamper Me Like a Queen

Thanks to Whisper, I got a pampering session at Beauty Empire which is located at Scarlet Hotel. This came at the right time to relieve my stress!

Absolutely love the vintage and princessy decor. Most importantly, it’s in my favorite color PINK!

I had a lovely massage followed by a manicure session with the therapist. The massage was sooo good that I nearly fell asleep.

Standard Chartered Breeze

Last month, Standard Chartered (SCB) held a blogger’s breakfast to introduce the latest iPhone app, Breeze for mobile banking.

The first look at the cheery looking interface really lifted up my mood. I love how the background changes from day to night accordingly. Having said that, the buttons were lovely designed!

Promotions were also categorized accordingly, absolutely useful for shopaholics like us.

One of the best features, Breeze e-Cheque! A paperless way of sending cheques to your recipients, I really love this innovative idea. Having a simple and user-friendly app is one of the key things that I look for. I’m really tempted to get a Standard Chartered bank account already!

Sex and the City 2 Gala Premiere

I attended the gala premiere for Sex and the City 2 a couple of weeks ago with some other bloggers.

I caught the first film again to refresh my memory. In this sequel, the ladies traveled to Abu Dhabi (in fact it was Morocco) in first class and lead the lives of queens in a spectacular hotel with their very own butlers. Again, they had to deal with the pressures of life, love and work.

All in all, I was fascinated by the fashion styles of the ladies, especially Carrie.

Great inspirations! Wonder if I can ever carry these styles.

I’ve always feel that putting on cosmetic lenses is extremely scary and I’ll never ever try it in my entire life, but boy I was so wrong.

I attended the CIBA VISION FreshLook Illuminate event at Dempsey last month and tried on the cosmetic lenses for the very first time!

Protect Ourselves, Ladies!

I’m ashamed to say that I do not know what cervical cancer is all about.

But after attending the POCC event, I learnt that cervical cancer is a common and preventable disease. Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC) is a campaign to help women in Singapore to protect themselves against cervical cancer.

Cervical Cancer is the 6th most common cancer among women in Singapore. More than one woman die from cervical cancer every 5 days in Singapore. Shocking!

Spread the word and protect yourselves and your loved ones from this disease. You can prevent it by doing a pap smear or HPV Vaccination.

I encourage all women to go for a vaccination to protect ourselves from HPV and cervical cancer.

Prevention is always better than cure.

The Great Audio Experience

To commemorate World No Tobacco Day, Health Promotion Board has partnered Mediacorp 987FM to bring you Singapore’s first Great Audio Experience on 29 May 2010! In case you are wondering, this movement is inspired by Improv Everywhere’s Mp3 experiment.

Starting from Orchard Central, SMU Green and The Heeren Shops at 4.30pm, participants and celebrity guests will tune in to 987FM and follow 987FM Mister Young’s instructions. They will be involved in a series of fun activities to live it up without lighting up – in a moving flash mob that will end up at Plaza Singapura.

Shiseido Singapore’s 40th Anniversary

Shiseido celebrated her 40th anniversary last week and I am extremely proud to be part of the family of such a prestige brand.

The walls are plastered with Shiseido’s history way back to the 70s. I was not even born yet! It was a splendid sight and looking at the photos gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. The smiles on the people, the satisfaction and great service that the staff provide to the customers and the effort to create innovative products to keep up with the skincare and makeup trends.

20th European Union Film Festival

The European Union Film Festival is an annual event that showcases a collection of films which draws on the diverse and rich culture of Europe. I was being invited to the European Union Film Festival’s Blogger Movie Fiesta held at the Spain Embassy last week to watch a film from Luxembourg named Irina Palm.

Irina Palm tells the story of a 50-year-old widow who desperately needs money to pay for her grandson’s hefty medical fees. Driven to the edge, she becomes a sex worker in order to cope with the financial difficulties. Under the pseudonym Irina Palm, her job is to help pleasurise male customers by using her hands. As for how she does it, I’ll leave that to your imagination and do catch the film while you can!

From 6 to 16 May 2010, 17 films from 17 different countries will be showcased in Golden Village VivoCity. Tickets for public sessions are available from 22 April 2010 at the GV VivoCity box-office, online at www.gv.com.sg and at AXS stations islandwide.
