Recommended by Nadia, this fun and quirky looking little cafe called With a Pinch of Salt is located at Tanjong Katong. I didn’t know that it’s so close to my office! :kitty14:

The decor of the cafe looks really cheery and colorful. :wink1:

Cheeky tagline! :tongue2:

While we were browsing the menu, we realized that they have really cheeky and fun tagline for almost all the dishes!

Cheesy fries, mediocre standard. :(:

Chicken wings!

Potato Munchkins. Naish, me like! :eat:

My Sissy Crab Pasta. Hoho. Couldn’t finish it. :alamak:

Nadia’s Corden Bleu.

Fidelis’s Secret Beef Stew. Shhh… the recipe is a secret!

Esther’s Old Uncle Mac’s Favourite. Way too much to feed one person!

What’s left. We ordered too much and couldn’t finish all of them. :alamak:

I’m looking forward to more makan sessions with the lovely babes! :love4:

Pronounced as “kitchen”, this chic-looking restaurant is located at the outdoor area at Albert Court Village Hotel.

Simplicity is beauty. :cloud9:

I decided to bring Boss there after hearing the buzz about this restaurant. :kitty14:

They have a very interesting concept for taking orders. We can personalize our dish and get to choose the base, main and the sauce. :tongue2:

Boss had Spaghetti + Dory Fish + Chilli Crab Sauce.

I had Fusilli + Portobello Mushroom + Chilli Crab Sauce. The waitress asked me if I really want the Portobello Mushroom. I gave her a bewildered look before telling her “Yes, I want the mushroom.” I asked her why and she told me not everyone like mushroom. Like seriously? Mushrooms are the best ever! :drool2: Anyway, the chilli crab sauce is really delish! :love4:

Seaweed drumlets. Quite yummy but very messy after eating it. :alamak:

I had Lychee + Peach + Honey, a very refreshing combination. Boss had Strawberry + Red Bull. He’s not a strawberry person, I had no idea why he chose this. :confused2: But both are good! :dessert3:

After lunch, we head over to Kallang and Boss had no idea what’s in store for him!

I think I am quite good in planning for surprises. :smileyhappy3:

YES! We are going for Jay Chou’s concert! :jump: I had a hard time searching for these tickets on eBay and managed to get them at a very reasonable price WAHOOOO! :kitty4:

Irritating Boss who kept humming Jay’s songs to me every time we meet up. Can see his idol now, happy liao lor! :blank:

Woo hoo! We had fun playing with the thunder sticks! But the quality is quite bad, lao hong one!

And then it started! The sea of blue light sticks are darn cool.

Jay Chou’s concert is one of the best I have ever seen. The graphical images were simply magnificent and I especially love the 3D effects he used throughout the entire concert. :dance2: More photos ahead!

Patite Patisserie Mon, 2 August 10

Patite Patisserie is brought to you by the folks behind The Patissier (my fave!). Got invited to a preview of the frozen mousse cakes that Patite Patisserie is currently offering. :wink1:

Available in 3 flavors Chocolate, Mango and Strawberry, we can decorate the topless cakes whichever way we want. Chocolate has a velvety chocolate texture, very moist and lush. Mango has a light tinge of fruity and refreshing taste. Strawberry tasted slightly sourish but still bursting with the strawberry flavor. :tongue2:

Rainbow sprinkles, nuts, M&Ms and chocolate balls for decoration!

Ooh look at the chocolatey goodness! :eat:

Me in action hee hee. :tongue1:

TADAAAA my creation! I can decorate cakes, but I can’t bake them! :love3:

Here’s me with fellow lovelies Nadia, Fidelis and Esther! :love4:

The mousse cakes can be found at Meidi-Ya supermarket at Liang Court. For more details, visit their website at www.patitepatisserie.com.

Many thanks to Celena from OC for the invitation. :)

Food at Geylang Wed, 23 June 10

Boss and I are always on the lookout for good food. :eat: Before we flew off to Hong Kong, I had cravings for dim sum. Hence, we drove down to Geylang to search for my favorite dim sum stall. :cloud9:

Wan Dou Sek! My second time here. :)

If you are looking for cheap and good dim sum, this is the place! :wink1: Although not as posh and comfortable as Red Star Restaurant, it’s still one of the best places for yummy dim sum!

Huge ass sugarcane juice.

开动了! :drool2:

Yummy har gao. :eat:

Chee cheong fun with shrimps! The sauce is awesome!

I.hate.siew.mai. :blah:

Glutinous rice. Not too bad. :)

Boss’s boring char siew bao. :blank:

After stuffing ourselves with dim sum, we headed over to Rochor Beancurd House! :lovebear1: I’ve been telling Jason that I would patronize his shop for the longest time, but didn’t have the time to do so. Finally kept my promise! :smileyhappy3:

Here we are! ;)

What we ordered! :eat:

So far, it’s the best tau huay I have ever eaten! :love3: It’s extremely thick and smooth! You can feel that it went gulu gulu down your throat.

Soya bean milk! Me like! :love1:

Portuguese egg tart and you tiao! The you tiao is extremely tasty when being dipped into the beancurd.

I wan moarrrr tau huay! Geylang is one of the best food places in town, but the thought of having to search for parking lots and enduring those leering eyes give me the creeps. :sad3:

Everything With Fries Wed, 21 April 10

Jacelyn • Filed under: Food 11:40 pmComments(1)

Everything With Fries is indeed everything with fries. What the hell am I talking about? Basically, whatever you see on the menu comes with uh, fries. Located at Lorong Mambong just opposite Wala Wala, it was full house when we arrived on a weekend night. :wink1:

The decor of the restaurant is minimalistic yet stylish. A bookshelf was tucked in a corner of the restaurant. It’s probably used to divert away our attention from the slow service. One thing that truly turns me off is the extreme loud music together with the noise made by all the patrons. The entire place turns pretty noisy and we had to shout at one another and this added on to the noise. :blah:

However, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was worth mentioning.

I had uhm, root beer float. One of my favorite. :cloud9:

One Egg Soup was highly recommended by their staff. The egg was slightly crispy but I don’t see anything unique about the soup. In fact, the broth was too bland. :sad3:

Boss chose the nuggets under the “Just For Kids” section as he didn’t have much appetite. The portion was huge though.

Amy had the Ham and Cheese Sandwich with curry fries. The bread itself was really soft and lightly pan-fried. Yum! :eat:

I had Grilled Pork Chop. I love the sour cream fries, but the pork chop was a disaster. The meat was too tough and I had a hard time chewing it. :disgust: I would rather have my pork chop at New York New York. It’s so much better.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try their Nutella Tart which I heard was really awesome and they actually allow “reservation” of the tarts. We were a step too late. I will probably drop by again just to try out the tart.
