Recommended by Nadia, this fun and quirky looking little cafe called With a Pinch of Salt is located at Tanjong Katong. I didn’t know that it’s so close to my office! :kitty14:

Pronounced as “kitchen”, this chic-looking restaurant is located at the outdoor area at Albert Court Village Hotel.

I decided to bring Boss there after hearing the buzz about this restaurant. :kitty14:


They have a very interesting concept for taking orders. We can personalize our dish and get to choose the base, main and the sauce. :tongue2:


Boss had Spaghetti + Dory Fish + Chilli Crab Sauce.


I had Fusilli + Portobello Mushroom + Chilli Crab Sauce. The waitress asked me if I really want the Portobello Mushroom. I gave her a bewildered look before telling her “Yes, I want the mushroom.” I asked her why and she told me not everyone like mushroom. Like seriously? Mushrooms are the best ever! :drool2: Anyway, the chilli crab sauce is really delish! :love4:


Seaweed drumlets. Quite yummy but very messy after eating it. :alamak:


I had Lychee + Peach + Honey, a very refreshing combination. Boss had Strawberry + Red Bull. He’s not a strawberry person, I had no idea why he chose this. :confused2: But both are good! :dessert3:

After lunch, we head over to Kallang and Boss had no idea what’s in store for him! :laugh:

I think I am quite good in planning for surprises. :smileyhappy3:


YES! We are going for Jay Chou’s concert! :jump: I had a hard time searching for these tickets on eBay and managed to get them at a very reasonable price WAHOOOO! :kitty4:


Irritating Boss who kept humming Jay’s songs to me every time we meet up. Can see his idol now, happy liao lor! :blank:


Woo hoo! We had fun playing with the thunder sticks! :laugh: But the quality is quite bad, lao hong one! :sick:


And then it started! The sea of blue light sticks are darn cool. :thumbsup:


Jay Chou’s concert is one of the best I have ever seen. The graphical images were simply magnificent and I especially love the 3D effects he used throughout the entire concert. :dance2: More photos ahead!

Everything With Fries is indeed everything with fries. What the hell am I talking about? :laugh: Basically, whatever you see on the menu comes with uh, fries. Located at Lorong Mambong just opposite Wala Wala, it was full house when we arrived on a weekend night. :wink1:


The decor of the restaurant is minimalistic yet stylish. A bookshelf was tucked in a corner of the restaurant. It’s probably used to divert away our attention from the slow service. One thing that truly turns me off is the extreme loud music together with the noise made by all the patrons. The entire place turns pretty noisy and we had to shout at one another and this added on to the noise. :blah:

However, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was worth mentioning. :thumbsup:


I had uhm, root beer float. One of my favorite. :cloud9:


One Egg Soup was highly recommended by their staff. The egg was slightly crispy but I don’t see anything unique about the soup. In fact, the broth was too bland. :sad3:


Boss chose the nuggets under the “Just For Kids” section as he didn’t have much appetite. :laugh: The portion was huge though.


Amy had the Ham and Cheese Sandwich with curry fries. The bread itself was really soft and lightly pan-fried. Yum! :eat:


I had Grilled Pork Chop. I love the sour cream fries, but the pork chop was a disaster. The meat was too tough and I had a hard time chewing it. :disgust: I would rather have my pork chop at New York New York. It’s so much better.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try their Nutella Tart which I heard was really awesome and they actually allow “reservation” of the tarts. :rolleyes: We were a step too late. I will probably drop by again just to try out the tart.

I went for the second time with my friend and we tried the Pirate Queen Peach and Grumbling Raisins. The Grumbling Raisins is extremely creamy and full of rum. Can I just say YUM? :love3: The Pirate Queen Peach has a light peachy taste. I added the mini M&Ms but somehow, the colors ran and it looked pretty disgusting. But still, it was absolutely delicious. :cloud9:

KOI Cafe (more commonly known as 50岚 in Taiwan) is the latest bubble tea craze. If you notice, the inverted word of KOI looks like the chinese character “豆”. Looks cute isn’t it? :tongue2:


Boss and I visited the AMK outlet last weekend since we had nothing better to do hahaha… :laugh:

I’ve tried the outlet at Marine Parade and usually they would add almost half a cup of pearls. The one at AMK doesn’t do so. :blah: I might just visit Marine Parade since it’s much closer to my house. :love4:
