Pronounced as “kitchen”, this chic-looking restaurant is located at the outdoor area at Albert Court Village Hotel.

Simplicity is beauty.

I decided to bring Boss there after hearing the buzz about this restaurant.

They have a very interesting concept for taking orders. We can personalize our dish and get to choose the base, main and the sauce.

Boss had Spaghetti + Dory Fish + Chilli Crab Sauce.

I had Fusilli + Portobello Mushroom + Chilli Crab Sauce. The waitress asked me if I really want the Portobello Mushroom. I gave her a bewildered look before telling her “Yes, I want the mushroom.” I asked her why and she told me not everyone like mushroom. Like seriously? Mushrooms are the best ever! Anyway, the chilli crab sauce is really delish!

Seaweed drumlets. Quite yummy but very messy after eating it.

I had Lychee + Peach + Honey, a very refreshing combination. Boss had Strawberry + Red Bull. He’s not a strawberry person, I had no idea why he chose this. But both are good!

After lunch, we head over to Kallang and Boss had no idea what’s in store for him!

I think I am quite good in planning for surprises.

YES! We are going for Jay Chou’s concert! I had a hard time searching for these tickets on eBay and managed to get them at a very reasonable price WAHOOOO!

Irritating Boss who kept humming Jay’s songs to me every time we meet up. Can see his idol now, happy liao lor!

Woo hoo! We had fun playing with the thunder sticks! But the quality is quite bad, lao hong one!

And then it started! The sea of blue light sticks are darn cool.

Jay Chou’s concert is one of the best I have ever seen. The graphical images were simply magnificent and I especially love the 3D effects he used throughout the entire concert. More photos ahead!

Annyong Haseyo

My name is 재시린 (jae-si-rin)! Cool eh? I just started learning Korean not long ago, though I have not learn how to structure a sentence in Korean. In fact, I have been procrastinating for more than 5 years already. If you do a search on my blog, you will know that I am very obsessed with everything related to Korean. From dramas, to fashion, to food, so on and so forth. Literally anything you can think of.

I used to pick up Japanese and during my free time, I would practice writing Japanese by listening to the songs and writing down the lyrics. I even took up basic Japanese in the community centre but I quit after finishing the course. Partly because the teacher is a sneaky old man who keeps repeating “I love you” in Japanese in every single lesson.

Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, I took up basic Korean in Cambridge. The 선생님 (seon-saeng-nim) is a Korean and she is extremely patient and friendly.

Writing the Korean language is fairly simple compared to Chinese. At least there are lesser strokes to remember.

I hope I will master the language soon and perhaps travel to South Korea again.

Picnic at Marina Barrage

Marina Barrage is one of the best places to laze around and have a picnic with your loved ones. I went there during one of the weekends and had absolute fun! Look at all the colorful kites in the sky. Magnificent!

Meet my new dog, Honda! Kidding, he’s not mine. Lovely name he has eh? He kept looking for places to pee around when I was already struggling to walk him!

Such a beauty.

We brought some bread, pastries, cheese hot dogs and strawberries dipped with chocolate. Really yummy picnic we have there haha!

I made a party hat for Honda but he refused to wear it on his head! Look what we did to him instead lol!

Boyfriend’s Concert

Boyfriend’s concert last month was a blast!

At first, I couldn’t get the tickets via Sistic on time and was crying in my heart. Thank god I managed to buy the tickets from a lovely lady.

All in all, this year’s concert was much more entertaining and splendid than his first concert in 2007. Here are the photos I took. Enjoy the eye candy!

Great Things Come in Threes

It’s extremely stressful to plan for surprises when things doesn’t go your way at all. When the birthday boy gave you answers like “don’t know work until what time leh”, “maybe will be back early lor”, etc., it gives me more reasons to be frustrated! :omg:

Worse still, lao niang nearly got squashed by helium balloons in the cab!

Thank God I have Amy who volunteered to help me out. It was tough lugging around bags and bags of balloons with strangers staring at us in amusement. What? Never see people carry balloons before meh?

We took the effort to decorate his room while he’s away at work. It may seemed simple, but it’s the effort ma!

I had to lie to him to go home and get the car. Unfortunately, he already suspected it halfway through the journey. Cannot act a bit meh?! STUPID BOSS!

Silly boss.

They threw the entire box of confetti in his room but got a lashing from him instead hahaha!

Darn yummy chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate! Finally tried this haha! Wanted to DIY one from The Icing Room but not enough time to do so.

The next day…

We went back to Universal Studios!

It’s a great feeling to be able to enter here!

We found our Kungfu Panda friend at the first stop. Such a big and bulky dude!

We then headed off to Steven Spielberg’s studio for a tour.

The effects were sooo real and fantastic! If only there are more studio tours here in Singapore like the one in Hollywood.

Next, we went for the Revenge of the Mummy ride!

Sadly, we didn’t get to ride Rapids Adventure. It’s the second time I went there and both times I didn’t get to ride on it. How unlucky!

WORLD’S GREATEST BOSS! Specially for him! HEE HEE!

That’s almost the end of our trip to Universal Studios. In fact, it’s so much smaller than the one in the US that we got bored really quickly. My advice: Save the money for the air ticket to the US.

Here’s what greeted us on the third day.

It’s such a wonderful sight that we fell in love with this place. The ambience and scenery was perfect!

Cream of Mushroom! One of the dishes that the both of us can’t live without!

The birthday boy’s Bacon Linguine. The bacon was sooooo delicious! I’m never fan of cream sauce but this one certainly won my heart.

Here’s my Crabmeat Linguine. They were extremely generous with the crabmeat and the meat was so succulent and juicy. It was absolutely delish!

The last surprise of the evening was this warm chocolate cake that I had specially requested for it. The staff even sang a birthday song for the birthday boy. Looking at the smile on his face makes it all worthwhile.

As usual, we took some neoprints for memories’ sake.

We also took tons of polaroid shots as well. I’m so gonna invest in one. It’s so fun to play with!

One End to the Other

Is this gonna be the end of my singlehood?

Yes, Boss and I applied for the BTO at Boon Lay Grove. No plans for marriage yet but since it will take 3 years to construct, might as well?

I really hope that we will get it, even though it’s right at the other end from where I am staying now.

Then again, I’m not the only one who is excited about it. My parents are worse.

Simple Life at Kukup

This is an overdue post. 2 months late to be exact.

Me and boss on the ferry.

To Kukup! Visited Kukup again for the first time in 12 years! I used to come here for fishing with my family, but it seems like there ain’t much similar activities now?

How to fish like that? Look at the milky water.

Ugh! Even the mudskippers came out to play. Can you spot them?

The Quarter Century Mark

I am officially 25 naooooo! Not a good thing though. The clock keeps ticking away so quickly and it scares me. Sometimes I wonder, what have I achieved for the past 25 years? What should I do to improve myself and make my life more interesting?

I don’t know, seriously. Anyway…

It started with a casual affair at Greenhouse Cafe at 313@Somerset with my pretties. We were attracted by the cafe’s decor and plonked our butts on the swing immediately.

Pretty flowers were decorated all over the window! Damn chio! But I forgot to take a photo with it.

This was my main. Unfortunately, the food there wasn’t that fantastic.

See what I mean? They all look almost similar! Boring.

Nevertheless, I was really delighted to have all of my friends’ company. Thank you all for the gift! Forgot a group photo again! *facepalm*

The next day…

Boss’s group of friends were really nice to help me celebrate my birthday.

The birthday girl and the birthday boy making their wishes. Yes, our birthday falls on the same day!

They gave me the perfume which I’ve always wanted. Thank you!

Honestly speaking, I don’t really like my birthdate at all. Shueeewww and it’s gone in the blink of an eye. Oh wells…

Boss: Singapore lor.
Me: Where la?!
Boss: Err somewhere in Singapore lor.

He managed to be really tight-lipped about it after learning from the previous mistake. No matter how hard I tried to squeeze out information from him, he refused to say! *pulls hair* Not bad, at least he’s improving.

My day at work started with a very nice surprise from boss!

Gold Class! Fwah, damn high class. Me mountain turtle leh. I’ve always wanted to come though, WHOO HOO!

Should have watch Avatar the second time though, but like damn bo liao.

Damn shiok! Even better than an OSIM chair. How I wish the tickets are not so bloody expensive, then I’ll go every week!

We moved off and spotted this really cute poodle at Pet Safari! There were a few more dogs but this was the cutest! This stupid boy was stepping on the paws and refused to let the poor thing walk around! I should have just move forward and slap his stupid face. How dare he?!

Anyway, we were rushing for time so we left shortly.

I have absolutely no idea.

The scene was so pretty that I took a photo for memory’s sake. Minus the pole, please.

We went up to the top of the ship and this was what greeted us.

Caught a glimpse of the sunset before the sun goes down. How beautiful!

Thanks to my wonderful boss, my king, my silly boy, my love.

Our day ended with a pretty fireworks display over the other end at Sentosa. It was way too far and my camera’s not pro enough, hence no photos of the pretty fireworks.

The Perfect Moment

It has been a long time since boss and I went on a proper date. We brought along the Canon 450D which I had rented and went to Marina Barrage for photo taking!

The photos came out mad awesome! Look at the details of the fountain being captured! Ooh la la!

A view of the Singapore Flyer. It would look better without all the buildings blocking it. But still, it’s a beautiful sight.

It’s been a long time since I last flew a kite! A couple of years maybe?

The thing I love about Korean food is the amazing array of side dishes they usually gave. It’s free flow! Can eat till you puke!
