My first visit to 1-Altitude and I absolutely love it! :love4: It’s located at the 63rd floor of One Raffles Place. The 360-degree paranomic view is simply breathtaking. Might go there again just to look at the sunset! :)

Hello MBS! Awesome lightings!

Cover charge is at $20nett with one premium drink.

We were there to celebrate July’s birthday. Many unglam photos were taken, but I shall not post them here. :tongue2: Happy birthday dear! Looking forward to our next outing! :cloud9:

One thing I’ve definitely learnt is to never ever share my ideas online anymore. You know how irritating it can be when some bitches used it as their idea and think that they are god damn creative, when in fact they got inspired by someone else but refused to credit them. How original. You know who you are. :blah:

Hokay, enough ranting! Now on a happier topic! Boss’s 28th birthday celebration! :smileyhappy3:

I took leave on the eve of Boss’s birthday…

29 April @ 12.00am – Couldn’t get to sleep as it was the launch of the iPad 2, wonder if I should sacrifice my sleep and queue for it? Wanted to meet DK at 5am to queue at Challenger Jurong Point but I overslept.

9.00am – Managed to wake up on time. Prepared everything and went to buy some balloons near my house and took a cab to Tampines 1 to get the iPad 2!

10.00am – Reached Challenger Tampines 1. Great! I’m like the 20th person in the queue and managed to get the iPad 2’s slip that they were distributing! :smileyhappy3: I told DK I managed to get it and he also wanted another one for his sister, so I took another slip. When I was at the cashier to make payment, my card got rejected. Ho seh liao. I forgot that I had already hit the limit for the day, stupid me! :damnit: But eventually, the transaction went through. *PHEW*

New toy for Boss! :jump:

11.30am – Rushed down to Jurong and met DK to pass him the iPad 2. Then I went to Boss’s house to pack his clothes and told his mum and maid not to tell him anything.

2.00pm – Nua at his house until 2pm and took another cab to Bugis. TMD I really spent a lot on cabs that day. :blah: And finally…

Checked in at Intercontinental Hotel! Had booked a night stay for his birthday celebration. :love4: Their rooms are extremely spacious, nicely carpeted and spanking clean. iLike!

Nice work table but no use for it. :tongue1:

Huge plasma TV but the programs are boring. :shift:

Spanking clean toilet hur hur. :tongue2:

With my favorite bathtub hoho! :jump:

Giant Chivas and mini Chivas. :smileyhappy3:

3.00pm – Started pumping up the balloons with the hand pump. It’s not easy man. I think I burst more than 10 balloons in the process. :(:

Poker foil balloons! Nice right? :wink1:

Red roses for decor. :flower13:

Pasted these on the walls. Erm, Boss’s friends thought that it looked like the photo for funeral. :shocked2: Hello?! It took me a lot of effort to do the scrapbook lor! :blank:

7.00pm – At last, I’m done with the balloons and other decorations. Very happy that I found these poker balloons! :dance1:

TADAHHHHHH! :cloud9:

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! :lovebear1:

I nearly died after that. My hands were aching from pumping the balloons and my legs were wobbling. The reason why I took so long to decorate is because I kept running to the party shop nearby to buy stuff lol :shocked2:

8.00pm – Finally met Boss after he knocked off from work and I bluffed him that we were going to Plaza Sing for dinner and movie. I think he already suspected that I was planning something as I insisted to meet him that day. Ermmmm he’s not a goondusamy after all hor? :tongue2:

11.30pm – I purposely quarrelled with him to drag time as his friends were waiting for us at the hotel room and he didn’t know about it. By the time we reached there, they were all shouting in the room and we could hear it from outside. :blank:

We all had lots of fun! Many thanks to his friends for making this surprise semi-successful lol! :love3: They were really entertaining. :smileyhappy3:

30 April @ 12.00am – At the strike of 12am, the hotel staff brought the cake to us which I had prepared beforehand. :)

Happy 28 Boss! :love4:

The cake was poker-themed and too pretty to be eaten. :jump: The fondant was too sweet but I’m surprised that we managed to finish almost 90% of it.

Unfortunately, all of us were too noisy and his friends were being chased out at 1am. :sad3:

I prepared for my bubble bath with LUSH’s Supernova bath bomb. :smileyhappy2:

WHEEEEEEEEE! Mad shiok! :love1:

Who stole my heart!? :tongue2:

Bye Bye Old Job, Hello New Job! Mon, 16 May 11

Jacelyn • Filed under: Personal 12:00 pmComments(2)

After struggling with a job which I don’t really quite like for nearly 3 years, I finally call it quits.

What made me hold on to the job for THAT LONG? It’s the people. My now ex-colleagues are a great bunch of people to hang out with, minus the irritating ones whom I have been complaining about. I miss the lunch breaks, I miss the lame jokes by them, I miss the monopoly deal sessions… there are just too many to name.

I cried on my last day. It was a tough decision to make but life goes on and changing my career path is better for me. Well, let’s just say that the beauty industry is more suitable for me rather than engineering? :)

A DIY card from them :love4:

I don’t know what lies ahead of me. I just know that I have to do my best and hold on even if life’s a bitch. :tongue2:

Wish me luck! :cloud9:

Jacelyn • Filed under: Personal, Travel 3:46 pmComments(1)

MUHAHAHAHAHA… Guess where we went?! Nope, not haunted places. :tongue2:

Knock knock…

Don’t know yet?

How about this BIG CLUE? An ocean view room! :tongue2:

Yes! CRUISE! We’ve got a cheap deal all thanks to Mum! We didn’t know it was the school holidays. Everywhere is packed! :alamak: Sucks to squeeze with all the kiasu Singaporeans! :damnit: The first and only cruise I took was back in 1991, that was like 20 years ago. :shocked1: Ermm, seems like nothing has changed since then. The facilities are still the same lol! :blah: It was Boss’s first time though.

I brought the cute Ettusais luggage along hee hee! Everyone was like staring at me wtf. It’s cute and convenient what! :blah: Don’t you think so?

The room was fantastic. I can just look out and admire the lovely view. Ahhh bliss! :cloud9:

We embarked at 7pm and went around exploring the various decks. Impressive! ;)

I applied for the free membership but got a shock instead. TMD since when am I a MADAM???!!! Feel like cutting up this card. :blank:

We went off to The Pavilion to have chinese dinner. Nothing fantastic but considering that it is free flow, no complaints! :)

Relaxing on the sun deck! No sun though. :tongue2:

Bub bye Singapore! :wink1:

The pool which I never get to swim in. You will know why. :blah:

The night ended with a game of bingo. Never win at all lor. :(: We went to try our luck at the casino and managed to win a teeny weeny bit of money. Roulette was extremely fun! We were totally hooked! :smileyhappy3:

Next morning, breakfast was at Bella Vista. :eat:

Happy brekkie! :love4:

Completed with cornflakes!

With bacon, grilled tomato and soft-boiled egg! :drool1:

After breakfast, we went to the helipad to explore. :smileyhappy3:

Hello Star Virgo! ;)

We tried our luck again at bingo and managed to win 60 bucks? Not too bad for a start eh? :smileyhappy2:

Proceeded to have Chinese food for lunch! Totally love the salted egg yolk fried rice, extremely delish! *drools*

We refused to bathe for the entire day cos we were afraid that it might wash off our luck. Haha damn superstitious and stinky! :smileyhappy3: That explains why I didn’t managed to swim. :sad3:

Our bingo slip and the lucky toothpick. :tongue2:

True enough, we won again and everyone was in disbelief. Even the cruise staff. :shocked3:

There was this funny “Miss Universe” segment that kept us entertained the whole night. Of course, our focus isn’t this. :love3:

Seems like “she” was trying to touch my double chin. :(:

Yes, we tried our luck at bingo for the last time and WON AGAIN! In total, we won four times and our total winnings are more than SGD1K! :shocked2: It’s a huge achievement cos according to the staff, this has never happened before. We became mini celebrities overnight lol! :tongue2:

By then, we were like walking zombies and hurriedly rushed back to the room to freshen up and head to bed immediately. :cloud9:

Breakfast was dim sum at Bella Vista. Not very nice and I didn’t get to eat my favorite har gao. :(:

Cornflakes mixed with yogurt was a first for me. Very yummy!

Spent some time at the sky deck before heading back home. Wish we could stay longer but all good things must come to an end. :(: A very fruitful trip especially with the extra cash in our hands hahahaha! :love1:

Tales of an Amateur Baker Mon, 28 February 11

Jacelyn • Filed under: Food, Personal 12:00 pmComments(3)

My first attempt to make jelly hearts! :) It was a really fun and messy affair. The process was very enjoyable but to wash the dishes is such a chore haha! But the final product gives me a sense of satisfaction. :smileyhappy2:

TADAAAAAA!!! :love4: :love4: :love4:

Doesn’t look very appealing but it tastes very good hor! :tongue2: I’m going to try the Oreo and mango version next time. Yummeh! :smileyhappy3:

My DIY packaging. :wink1:

Apart from the cheesecake, I also tried to bake cookies for the first time. Surprisingly, they turned out really crunchy and tasty. Even my mum and Boss praised me. :love1: Am I a genius or what? :tongue1:

All ready to be given to Boss! :love4:

Got this couple tee whahahaha! I’m surprised that he actually wore it out cos he’s usually quite shy. I must have made him very embarrassed hoho! We got weird stares from people but heck! :smileyhappy3:

Dinner was at Crystal Jade for the awesome steamboat buffet. The best part is, they serve free flow xiao long baos! :shocked1: We only had four baskets cos we were too full by then. Mad shiok.

If you are keen, it’s only available at the Holland Village outlet. But be sure to make reservations in advance. :)

We also went to Swirl Art to have froyo since I had been craving for it for the longest time ever. It’s located at Liang Seah Street by the way.

Me and shy Boss. Act shy nia. :blah:

They have a wide variety of toppings like fruits, candies, nuts, mochi, etc. for us to choose from! The best part is they charge by weight, so you may select as many toppings as you like!

Boss had cappuccino flavor and rainbow sprinkles. Boring right! Whereas I had green apple flavor plus strawberries, fruity pebbles and my favorite lychee! :cloud9: The frozen yogurt was really refreshing. Imma going again on Tuesday! :jump:
