Victim of POSB GO! Debit MasterCard Fraud Mon, 11 July 11

Update (12 July 2011): I got a call from DBS this morning and they mentioned that they will credit back the amount to my account within this week. From there, they will continue with their investigations and will update me again.

I was a victim of debit card fraud last week. This is the first time such a thing has ever happened to me and I am both scared and worried.

On 8th July, I logged on to the internet banking and found a suspicious transaction in my account.


The fraudster had spent USD401.75 (SGD505.60) on my debit card. Ironically, I just received my salary on 5 July. Immediately, I called the bank and told them about it. They advised me to head down to any branch to lodge a fraud report and just wait. I made a police report as well.

I have been using the POSB Go! Debit MasterCard for more than a year when it was first introduced. Everything went well until this happened.

I am puzzled.

Firstly, why wasn’t I alerted when the transaction was being made? Obviously the fraudster’s address must be different from my billing address.

Secondly, I’ve never lose my card before and I am the only one holding on to it. So how did the fraudster get hold of my information?

I can recall my card being used in GV online booking, Tiger Airways and lastly iTunes. Was my information being stolen from iTunes?

Has anyone encountered such a situation before? What should I do now? Should I just wait? Will I get my money back and how long will it take? I am totally at a loss. :(:

All along, my online shopping experience has been really enjoyable. I receive my items on time and the sellers will update me promptly whenever I join any sprees.

But this time has got to be the worst I have ever encountered. So much so that I had to rant on my blog. :mad: Read on to find out why.

I was obsessed with the hair accessories that Kim Tae Hae had worn in the Korean drama – My Princess. I went around looking for sprees and finally found one here. I was overjoyed.


7 March – I ordered two items from her and made payment on the same day.


8 March – She verified my payment and claimed that the items will reach me in two weeks’ time. That’s around 22 March.


5 April – More than 2 weeks already and I didn’t receive any updates from her. Email her to check on the status.


5 April – It turns out that she’s away. Fine, I shall wait till she comes back.


8 April – She told me that the items have already reached Singapore and will send me another email for postage and pickup details. And so, I waited.


15 April – Still NO emails from her yet. I dropped her an email and she claimed that she had already email me.


15 April – I’m not even one of the recipients in the email loop. Didn’t she check properly?


16 May – I only managed to top up the postage on 20 April and sent her a confirmation email and gave her my address. Almost a month later, I still haven’t got my items from her and she has been ignoring my emails all this while. No acknowledgement, no confirmation, no updates.


16 May – Again, she claimed that she had email me and told me that the package had already been mailed out on 28 April. All along, I have never ever experienced any lost mails. Not even once for the past 6 years. I’m doubting her honesty but surprisingly, she offered to send me another set without even checking with SingPost about the lost mail. Very suspicious.


24 May – One week has passed, still no updates. And finally, I received the items on 16 June but…

THEY ARE IN THE WRONG COLORS NABEI! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Can you imagine how pissed I was? Her updates are slow, always claimed that she had email me but didn’t and then now this?! Waited more than 3 months for 2 hairbands and this is the shit I get. :angry:


16 June – Informed her that she had sent the wrong colors. No reply for two days until I gave her a final reminder.


18 June – Her response? Checking with her dad what exactly happened. To put it simply – “I’m not based in Singapore and my dad packed those stuff, so I have no fucking idea and had nothing to do with it. Period.”

Hey bitch. Even if you are checking with your dad, can you at least drop me an email to let me know? Don’t give me any bullshit that you are busy travelling or whatever nonsense. Yeah right, you have so much time to update your website but no time to reply me? Oh screw you fucking liar. :mad:

My last email to her was on Tuesday. No response from her yet. :blah:

Ultimate Frustration from StarHub Sat, 19 February 11

BOO!


Yeah, you’ve seen it right. THIS is why I am so frustrated about. I sent these screenshots to the customer service dept yesterday and they suggested that I change the sim card to see if it will resolve the issue.

The irony thing is, I got these connection problems at StarHub Green pretty often. The guy even had the cheek to tell me it is IMPOSSIBLE to happen at StarHub Green. BIG JOKE! Yes my office is located at StarHub Green, the new data centre for StarHub. No, I don’t work for StarHub but I used to. Hence, I know that they are just trying to smoke and appease me hoping that I will stop bugging them. :blah: Sorry lor, I won’t be cheated so easily hokay.

Anyway, I will just change the sim card if they claimed that it will work. Otherwise, I will complain until they agree to terminate my contract early. I don’t fucking pay $50+ a month to get this shitty connection. It’s getting from bad to worse. Nabei.


On a side note, I got myself a very chio looking portable mobile charger from Funky Chargers as my battery gets used up too quickly. So far so good. :wink1:

Woman whacks and whacks dog with feather duster, even as it shrieks in pain

I happened to see this on SPCA’s Facebook page and got the shock of my life. Click on the link above if you wanna see the video. Not for the faint-hearted. I think this is even worse than Butters’ case which happened last month.

In the video, the woman can be seen hitting the dog repeatedly with a shoe. I can see from her actions that she is using her entire force to hit the dog.

TMD!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

This bitch should be jailed for the rest of her life and humiliated in public! :angry: Like seriously what the fark? Are the authorities even doing anything?!
