Excuse Me, Are You a Freeloader? Fri, 18 June 10

Freeloaders come in all sorts. They are self-centered and refused to admit that they are. I had my fair share of experience with some of them.
- They love to live off other people’s lives and don’t pay for anything and never pay you back.
- They refused to contribute and whenever you ask them to, they would tell you that they are broke. They would rather spend on cigarettes and beer.
- Better still, they totally ignore you and act blur when you talk to them about it.
- They kept giving the excuse that they have tons of loans and bills to pay for. Who doesn’t?
- They would ask you to pay for their meals or other stuff, out of the blue.
- They are lazy and take advantage of your kindness and generosity and refused to admit that they ARE lazy.
- They will jump at any chance to leech you off. Yes, ANY CHANCE.
- They expect you to return the favor IF they had helped you.
- They will get irritated and complain that you are stingy if you forced them to pay.
Do all these sound familiar to anyone of you?
Has anyone met with a freeloader before? How do you deal with them? Share your story with me!
[Review] JUSalon – Terrible Service, Horrible Haircut Fri, 19 March 10
Jacelyn • Filed under: Beauty, Ranting, Reviews • 10:30 am • Comments(9)

I did my haircut at JUSalon two weeks ago. It’s not the hair salon that I frequent, but since I won a free haircut via Chic Magazine’s Facebook fan page, I braved myself to go for it.
Chic wanted the first 50 people to submit a hairstyle that they desire to have. This was the hairstyle which I had chosen.

I have always wanted to get this hairstyle, but my hair feels like hay, thick and lifeless. No matter how I trim it, pump it with lots of hair products or style it, I can’t seemed to achieve this look at all.
Since they wanted us to submit a photo of the hairstyle, I presume someone from the hair salon would refer and cut my hair according to it?
Apparently not.

The entire salon was extremely quiet, there was only one hairstylist around. I waited for 15 minutes before I got my turn as he was attending to someone else.
At last, it was my turn. The moment I sat down, he asked me how would I want my hair to be cut. Uh huh? Requiring us to submit a photo of the hairstyle is just a gimmick?

Anyway, I took out another photo to show it to him and told him that I wanted a similar hairstyle. I explained to him that I have layered hair, so it’s understandable if it is not possible to have the exact effect but close to it should be fine?
He gave me a blank look and started messing around with my hair. All he said was “I can try.” Then, he started snipping away my ends and cut them straight. So my entire hair looked like a flight of stairs.

Yes, my hair literally looked like this. Except for the coloring of course.
I got really fed up and told him “I think you don’t understand what I mean, just cut my hair back to layered.” He seemed to be quite unhappy with my comment and thereafter, he trimmed my hair hastily.
Then came the last straw, I told him to cut my fringe according to the photo given and this was what he gave me.

My horrible fringe!!! The layering is really bad. It gets too short at the top.
TAMADE! Lao niang damn angry!

The entire process merely took 20 minutes.
Before I left, the guy told me that he is one of the bosses and their salon is relatively new.
Uh huh. Boss or not, you are unprofessional, lack of skills and used sneaky marketing tactics.
Period.
Now, I need to save my hair!
Fake My Beauty Diary Masks at Watsons Sun, 6 September 09

I was browsing around Watsons at Ngee Ann City when I stumbled upon these masks that’s dubious and familiar looking.

Yes, they imitated My Beauty Diary from Taiwan! Imagine my horror and anger when I saw them! I supposed you should have already guessed which country are they made from huh?

The King of Imitation – China. Expected. And isn’t it funny that Watsons imported them in? Didn’t they do their homework beforehand? Anyway, here’s the authentic packaging of My Beauty Diary masks.

Make sure you double check the next time you buy anything, even in Singapore. It’s scary to even think about it.
The Victoria’s Secret Hype Wed, 8 July 09
Jacelyn • Filed under: Ranting, Shopping • 11:00 am • Comments(1)

It has been more than 4 months since the scam happened. The hype started when Victoria’s Secret was doing a clearance sale on their website for their items. Some bags are going as low as USD2.90! Everyone was going gaga over their wide range of bags that’s both chic and sexy.
Some, even had to resort to scamming. I was one of the victims who fell into the trap. I couldn’t believe it myself at first, for creating such a huge mistake even though I had done online shopping for more than 5 years. I have been very meticulous and careful when it comes to that. I don’t purchase from dubious sellers, I do my own homework before transferring my hard earned money to a total stranger. You know, I believe it’s the work of greed. All human beings are greedy. Unfortunately, I am one of them.
However, God has eyes. The evil will always have bad karma for their whole life. There is justice after all, we made a police report and the scammer managed to refund to those people who had reported to the authorities. I believe one day, the scammer will get sentenced which she deserves to. Of course, I had my own rewards after the ordeal.

I got my weekender at SGD35, logo and chic handbags for SGD15 each! I am so blessed! HEE HEE!
