District 10 Festive Menu

District 10 Bar & Restaurant and District 10 Bar & Grill are celebrating the festive season in a fiery fashion! What you will be seeing in this post will be available for the whole month of December and we are just weeks away from Christmas! smile

We started the meal with some bar bites – Fried Soft Shell Crab with Chili Crab Sauce ($20++) which was not too oily with generous chunks of crab meat in it and Papadum with Foie Gras and Mango Chutney ($26++), probably the only foie gras I love, it had a good balance of fat it in and literally melts in your mouth.

Flavourful and satisfying, Portobello Mushrooms stuffed with Crabmeat and Prawn topped with Gorgonzola sauce and Flying Fish Roe ($28++) are plump, juicy and moist.

For carb lovers, Homemade Lobster Ravioli cooked in Light Butter Sage sauce and finished with Black Truffle ($38++) will be the perfect dish for you. Check out those generous strips of truffle, which added some aroma and visual appeal to the entire dish.

The highlight of the day is the Flaming Black Angus Tomahawk ($180) which is the first in Singapore. Sourced from Australia, the 200-day grain-fed Black Angus Tomahawk is a generous portion of up to 1.7kg which is good for 4-5 people. District 10 had nailed the perfect medium rare steak, where we were treated to a spectacular sight as the steak was flamed right in front of our eyes, leaving a nice, charred taste to the juicy meat.

Also up in flames is the Bourbon Flamed Cheese ($24++), where strips of bacon are wrapped around the the cheese to give it that extra oomph.

Cheese lovers, you are in for a treat! The Cheese Wheel promotion will be extended till end of the month due to its success and popular demand. Items like salad, pasta, risotto will be tossed in a huge wheel of Grana Padano Cheese before being served.

First dish on the cheese wheel menu is the Caesar Salad with D10 Classic dressing, Crouton and Smoked Chicken ($19++). I find this dish a tad too salty, probably due to the additional blob of anchovies paste added to the salad. However, the smoked chicken was tender and tastefully done.

Pasta dishes like the Spaghetti with Smoked Salmon in Light Cream Sauce ($28++) and Linguine with Mixed Seafood in a Spicy Tomato Basil sauce ($28++) are tossed in the cheese wheel as well which makes the sauce more creamy and rich. My personal favourite is the smoked salmon version, which has a silkier texture.

We also tried starters like Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Rocket Lettuce and 24 Month Old Shaved Parmesan Cheese ($18++) and Over Baked Eggplant Alla Parmigiana Style ($17++). The latter was my favourite out of the two, as the eggplant was fork tender and blended extremely well with the tomato sauce and cheese.

Made with mushrooms, pancetta ham, zucchini and egg, the District 10 Pizza ($19++) has a light, thin crust, definitely a hit for carb-lovers.

We ended the meal with a cuppa Traditional Italian Tiramisu ($14++), one of my favourite Italian desserts.
