Hong Kong: Sun Kee Cheese Noodles

The trip to Hong Kong was pretty regretful as we didn’t get to visit most of the places that we wanted to. I guess that’s the disadvantage when you travel in a group. sad But thankfully, we managed to visit Sun Kee Cheese Noodles for a quick meal on the last day of the trip. We popped by the outlet at Wan Chai as we have yet to explore this small district.

It was almost nightfall as we walked a couple of streets in search of the restaurant. My eyes were wandering around the streets as I have heard that it’s a red light district, but there wasn’t anything interesting. tongue

We were almost giving up after searching for 10mins until I saw the signage 新記芝士麵. I took a glance of the interior and told the hubby, “It looks empty.” We walked into the restaurant nonetheless and look for an empty seat. Though it was around dinner time, it’s only one-third full.

We looked through the menu and decided to order their signature Grilled Pork Cheek Noodles with Cheese Sauce, which the restaurant is famous for and highly raved by locals and tourists. Soaked in a cloying cheese sauce, the pork cheek was nicely grilled and delicious but the cheese sauce is meh. There was nothing cheesy about it and I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed by it. sad

The hubby had the Instant Noodles with Pork Chop which was way better than the signature dish, a simple and heart-warming dish.

Not a must-visit, but there is no harm trying if you are around the vicinity. After all, taste is subjective. smile

Ze BFF and I are planning to visit Hong Kong next year. I would be her personal travel guide since she have yet to visit the country hehe! smile Very much looking forward to it cos she’s definitely a good travel companion! Definitely looking forward to the next Hong Kong adventure heart
