Life Without a Wedding Planner: Carnival Theme

Wedding plans are underway and I’ve been collating ideas since last year. Doubt I will hire a wedding planner cos I am pretty nitpicky. tongue Well, also decided to document this in case people starts to fight who thought of the theme first. *roll eyes* If you’ve followed me on Pinterest, you will find more ideas there. smile

And so, my wedding theme would be – CARNIVAL

The thought of it makes me both excited and sad. Excited cos I love doing DIY stuff, sad cos I doubt we can do it the Western style here due to other factors like weather, location and limited resources, etc. =( Well anyway, here are some of the ideas which I hope I can get them done! But I reckon it may not necessary be carnival themed for some =)

Bridesmaid and Best Man

Rainbow dresses for the bridesmaids and rainbow ties for the best men. Gonna be a challenge to find all the colors. Even the flowers have different colors! surprised

Candy Tables

Who doesn’t love candy? I know it’s a trend that has been overdone but still, cute to have one! Now, where can I find those pretty jars hmm…!

Invitation Cards

Personalized invitation cards, wonder if I have the talent to illustrate. Looking at the colors red, pink, coral, lilac, teal, gold, silver, etc. Can’t decide what’s good! tongue

Table Numbers

Table number designs in hotels are boring, might as well spice it up! smile

Escort Cards

Escort cards for guests to find the table numbers easily. Cool eh? Makes our job easier. tongue

Wedding Favors

Thinking of having something like candies or honey to represent sweet love. =)

Ring Pillow

Rather than the traditional ring pillow, why not have one that is unique to ourselves? =D

That’s about it. I have more ideas but let’s save that for another entry. =) Here are some of my favorite websites to get wedding inspirations.

Green Wedding Shoes
Style Me Pretty

Can’t wait to DIY everything! smile Right now, I am busy looking for a venue, bridal boutique, photographer and videographer. Let me know if you have any recommendations! bigsmile

  1. so how did your wedding go? Did you end up using a carnival theme? You would probably need the several vendors to work together in order to get the theme right.

Jacelyn: It went well! Pics will be up soon. Yes, vendors are really important to run the whole show successfully ;)
