Korean BBQ is so popular that you will find one at every corner of the city. BBQ is almost like a staple meal for the Koreans.
Baekjeong Korean BBQ is opened by one of Korea’s top host Kang Ho Dong, which is fairly normal for popular celebrities to open restaurants or cafes of their own. We visited the restaurant in Myeongdong and waited for about 30 minutes during dinner time.
The restaurant uses charcoal for grilling, which is pretty rare these days. As soon as we are being seated down, side dishes like pickled onion, kimchi, bean paste, dried anchovies, etc. were served. The meal also comes with complimentary light, fluffy steamed eggs.
We ordered their beef combo which consists of short rib and the super delicious chuck meat. Check out that beautiful marbling heart It was really satisfying staring at the meat sizzling on the stove. Though we accidentally overcooked the meat, it was still quite tender and juicy. No complaints! bigsmile
The best way to eat BBQ meat? Place a piece of meat in the lettuce, add kimchi and bean paste! Try this method if you have the chance to! smile
Don’t forget to visit the restaurant if you are around the area. Slightly more expensive but pretty worthwhile to try. smile
