If you mention SabX2 to any Singaporean, it won’t be unfamiliar. It was my second visit here, first time was back in 2010 and I don’t remember it being so popular back then. Staff were much friendlier and food definitely tastier.
From afar, you will be able to see this huge banner suspended above. They were very particular about being associated with Soi 19 in Singapore and hence, you will see all sorts of notices plastered around the shop to shoutout that they are not related at all. Talk about pride.
The queue moved pretty fast, I think we only waited about 15 minutes. The whole restaurant was really cramp and most patrons were Singaporeans. Not a very comfortable place to dine here cos everyone seemed to be in a rush. Don’t expect top notch service here though.
Pork trotters with innards, preserved salted vegetables, egg. Good but not fantastic, the trotters had the right amount of fats and it was really soft and tender.
The legendary 100baht (S$4) wanton noodles. The only consolation was probably the crab meat which added sweetness to the dish. Other than that, nothing special. But no harm trying at least once to satisfy your curiosity.
