Melbourne: Bringalbit Country Retreat

Clear blue skies greeted us when we were on our way to the farm. If only we can have this view everyday. Maybe we should move to the countryside when we retire. tongue

Mandatory selfie hehe! heart This was taken next to the petrol station if I remember correctly. bigsmile

Liquors are cheap in aussie! We just had to stock up and bring them to the farm. bigsmile One of the disadvantages for a farmstay is that there are limited stores around the vicinity, we went around searching for convenience stores and supermarket to stock up food.

Arrived at the farm! A wefie we took with the owner Susan. smile

A secret garden. No idea where it leads to.

Check out those fluffy clouds! surprised

We took a stroll and found this beautiful lake. What a sight.

Wefie and selfie with the bulls from Spain. Extremely scared that they would charge at us lol! bigsmile

We took a quick tour around the farm. Half of us stayed at Susan’s residency and the other half’s accommodation is located just a 5mins’ walk from her residency. Some of us were pretty uncomfortable with the rooms as they looked too eerie. I vividly remember she had a room full of animal specimens for her research purposes. She also kept a lot of dolls as part of her collection. surprised No other complaints though as the rooms were very well maintained. It was pretty fun as we cooked our own dinner, had drinks and played games all night long. smile

Dinner was hosted by the lovely owner Susan, the perks for staying at a farm! We had pasta, lamb, cauliflower, pies, tarts and desserts. The guacamole is also one of the best I had tasted. It was my second time staying in a farm, the first time was at Johanna River Farm and Cottages and it’s definitely not the last! smile

Melbourne: Hash Specialty Coffee & Roasters

There are tons of cafes down the streets of Melbourne and Hash Specialty Coffee is just one of them. Serving one of the best hot chocolate in town, it is located at a quiet corner of Hardware Lane.

This is their popular Hot Chocolate, made with 85% Mork Chocolate served with a cloud of fairy floss. It was fun pouring the hot chocolate on the candy floss. smile With the sweet candy floss, the dark chocolate is not too bitter and just nice for my palate.

We had Pork Benedict which is topped with poached eggs, pulled pork, grana padano, chick peas, apple cider hollandaise and toasted sourdough. French Toast with brioche, cherry compote, honeycomb, pistachio soil, berry mascarpone, maple syrup and passionfruit gel. Having tried so many cafes in Australia, the food never fails to disappoint. It’s no wonder Melbourne’s coffee scene is literally second to none. smile
