Music has always been a part of my life. I remember that when I was younger, I would scribble lyrics on my tiny notebook and listen to the radio all day. Those were the days where I would record my favorite songs on the cassette tape and repeatedly replay them on the player. When I was in secondary school, my music journey continued and I joined the band and participated in many SYF competitions. These are truly fond memories that I’ll never forget. heart
VASA BLA ($165) is the new top-of-the-line wireless earphones that looks chic and fashionable with its high quality rose gold and matte finishing. Being an avid music lover, having good quality earphones is important as it allows me to enjoy music to the fullest.
I am extremely impressed with the sound quality even during bus rides. The crisp clarity isolates all kinds of external noises and you will be able to hear every single instrument and bass of the music clearly.
Black is the one that I had chosen, which also comes in white, pink and blue.
The packaging comes with the earphones, an exquisite leather pouch, manual, quality assurance card, charging cable and a metal clip. With a full–feature 3-button remote and mic, it is compatible with Android and iOS and is connected via Bluetooth.
The set also comes with 4 pairs of sleeves with different sizes, which is extremely useful to me as I’ve always had difficulty finding the right size to fit my tiny ears. This is truly god sent cos the tiniest sleeve fits me to a T. bigsmile

Our local hawker food scene is well known for its diversity and every week without fail, my colleagues and I would make it a point to lunch at popular hawker food stalls just to satisfy our cravings! Yep that’s how much we love our local food. smile
The Hawkerlicious Buffet by Flavours at Zhongshan Park allows us to enjoy local fares at the price of one. Local delights like fried hokkien mee, oyster omelette, cereal prawns, char siew, roasted pork, nonya laksa, prawn noodles are just some of the dishes you will get to enjoy.
Ah Hood Fresh Seafood, available during dinners, is the brainchild of Chef Kristopher Cheng, which allows us to pick our choice of seafood such as clams, tiger prawns, crab, squid and snapper fish to cook it our way with their signature sauces like black pepper, salted egg yolk, assam curry and ginger & onion sauce.
We tried crab with black pepper, squid with salted egg yolk sauce and snapper with assam curry. All turned out really delicious! smile The choices are endless and I love it that we can decide on our preferred ingredients, unlike the usual zi char stall menu which are usually fixed.
I also tried to cook assam laksa at the DIY noodles station, adding lots of ingredients which I love hehe! smile Apart from that, there are DIY stations to grill cuttlefish with kang kong, make gado gado, kueh pie tee, or rojak.
The buffet ups the notch on value with staple stations such as sashimi, sushi, bbq char siew and roasted pork.

Exfoliation is a crucial step in the beauty regime to have smoother, brighter and more even skin tone. Chemical peels are one of the possible ways to remove dead skin cells, which can cost hundreds of dollars.
The all new Kiehl’s Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate from the Dermatologist Solutions range contains quinoa husk extract to provide similar results as traditional chemical peels, but with a fraction of the cost and minimal irritation.
Suitable to use nightly, it can accelerate cell turnover, refine texture, improve skin tone evenness, allowing softer, more radiant skin by the next morning. Few drops is sufficient for every use, after cleansing and toning, before serum and moisturizing.
Texture wise, it’s non-oily and gets absorbed really fast. It has a distinct smell, kind of tonic-like, which I find it quite appealing and relaxing.
I really love the effect of the micro-peel concentrate as it reduces the risks such as redness and irritation that I get from traditional chemical peels. The fact that quinoa is used as a star ingredient in this product is a true beauty industry breakthrough.
Now available at Kiehl’s at $99 for a 30ml bottle. Check out this adorable video of their mascot – Jim the Quinoa Husk!
Today I will be reviewing Banila Co. It Moist Seoul Tint in Lacquer 02 Jihyo Pink, what a mouthful! surprised
I got this during my last trip to Seoul. Mainly because: 1 – Banila Co. is not available in Singapore; 2 – Jihyo is the brand spokeswoman! smile I first knew about this product from Get It Beauty, where she chose this as one of her favorite products, apart from the Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm, which I will be sharing in a separate post.
Featuring an illustrated fashionable model, this is part of the 2014 F/W makeup collection “Tinted Seoul.” The inspiration comes from K-Beauty, by creating colors which you can find in Seoul.
Though named as a pink shade, I find it more peachy than pinky. I would use the applicator to pick up some product and use my fingers to lightly dab and spread out the lacquer on my lips more evenly. Why I did so is because it dries up pretty fast, and leaves a matte finish after that, though it feels moist at first. I don’t think it lasted pretty long as it fades off after eating and drinking, probably just after one meal. Those with dry lips have to be careful when applying as it may look too patchy.
Don’t be too disappointed if you can’t get this in Singapore cos I think that an alternative option would be Etude House’s Colors Lips-Fit range, which works just as great. Again, I’ll save that for another post. Smooches! heart
I had the privilege of revisiting Salt Tapas & Bar on a lovely Saturday morning. smile Read my previous experience here. The current tasting features new seafood dishes which were sourced based on the freshest quality.
Roasted Garlic Flat Bread with Romesco ($6) has an excellent, nicely charred crust, which makes a very nice side dish.
Same ol’ Taco of Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Pineapple Salsa & Wasabi Mayo ($14) but they had changed the Chipotle Mayo to Wasabi Mayo, and I believe tobiko had also been changed to ikura, which I find it too overwhelming. At least for me though, I would still prefer the previous version. Wish they would bring it back! smile
Cigar Omelette with Mushroom Cepe Sauce & Green Onions ($15) tastes as good as it looks, egg and mushrooms never go wrong.
Egg Berentine with Bonito Flakes ($14) has an interesting combi of western and japanese way of cooking. The bonito flakes gives it a deeper and more unique flavour. Completed with a creamy and buttery hollandaise sauce, this unique dish is worth every try.
Grilled Big Head Prawn with Papaya Salad, Fried Peanuts & Tamarind Dressing ($27) is lightly grilled and the prawns still kept their freshness. The side salad also gives the dish a tangy kick. Wish there were more prawns though. wink
I may have found the best french toast ever. Those with a sweet tooth must try out the French Toast with Okinawa Ice Cream, Clotted Cream & Jam ($15), which is da bomb! The house-made brioche is nicely soaked with a special sauce which made it extremely soft and fluffy. Every bite delighted my palate and it was wiped out after a few bites. tongue
The chocolate-fanatic hubby can’t stop raving over the Gooey Chocolate Tart with Mango Sorbet ($14) which has a warm and rich dark chocolate lava oozing out when we break open the tart.
Salt Tapas & Bar’s brunch menu is available on Saturday and Sunday, from 11.30am to 3pm. Definitely worth waking up early for. smile
