Review: Glamabox – Glam Up Your Life!

Wednesday, 4 Jan 2012 by Jacelyn 5 Comments

Sponsored Review

GlamaBox, first launched in Hong Kong has recently landed on Singapore shores! A complimentary November box was sent to me for my review.

It’s founded by renowned-model and host Lisa S., wife of Daniel Wu. Basically, GlamaBox is a beauty subscription service where you will receive 5 beauty products and services from luxurious and reputable brands, all personally-selected by Lisa S. For a monthly fee of S$18 per month, it’s extremely affordable and worthwhile given that the products are from luxury brands!

When I first saw the box, I was like “Ooh, damn pretty! Can reuse it!” Hahaha!

Look at the amount of goodies inside!

Mad happy! :smileyhappy3:

Nifty little notes explaining about the benefits of each product!

Neogence Hyaluronic Hydrating Eye Cream

Neogence Hyaluronic Hydrating Eye Cream smoothes fine lines caused by dryness around your eye area. Formulated with pure hyaluronic acid and pure olive extract, it is non-irritating and non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog your pores! This fresh eye cream absorbs rapidly, and is the first step to making you look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!

Cyber Colors Hand Cream

Quick fix for a case of “Winter Hands”? Containing Vitamin E and natural fruit extracts, this handy and silky hand cream soothes, moisturizes and protects your skin against dehydration. Mango, orange, strawberry or melon? They all smell delicious, so don’t be surprised if you keep sniffing your hands after applying!

Perfective Ceuticals Anti-imperfection Eye Therapy Cream

Can looks kill? We arm you with the best weapons to battle against the four pillars of aging eyes – fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness! Collagen, Matrixyl, Retinol and Ginseng extract. Perfective Ceuticals Anti-imperfection Eye Therapy Cream with Growth Factor packs a whammy, gives you youthful, luminous and radiant eyes! This is great for everyday use or for holiday partying!

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada Lip Balm

Don’t you just LOVE this cute tin filled with hearts? This all-time favorite Spanish brand Agatha Ruiz de la Prada lip balm moisturizes your lip with all natural ingredients.

VOV Wash Off Pack Berry & Berry

VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack Wash Off Pack Berry and Berry contains rich Vitamin which revitalizes skin and prevents the formulation of melanin. The circulation of blood is also promoted, leaving skin moistened and radiant.

Apart from these brands you’ve seen, some featured brands include Suisse Programme, Clinique, Shiseido, Dermalogica and Benefit Cosmetics. Some, are not even found in Singapore!

I’ve seen a similar concept from BellaBox and Vanity Trove. Will I continue with the subscription? Maybe yes, maybe no. The only downside to this is you will never know what you will get and some products like the Cyber Colors Hand Cream can actually be found in Sasa. It would be better if most or even better, ALL of the products can’t be found at any of the drugstores here in Singapore.

What do you think of this concept and will you subscribe to it?

Review: TheNatureLab HydroGel Masks

Saturday, 17 Dec 2011 by Jacelyn No Comments

Sponsored Review

Unlike traditional sheet mask, HydroGel mask does not have any holding medium. It is made directly from pure nutrients and essence into a soft water-gel mask, just like how ice is formed from water. Hydrogel is soft and gentle on skin. Upon applying HydroGel, it will melt onto face creating an entire new masking experience.

All thanks to TheSampleStore, I was given 5 different types of HydroGel masks to try – Gold Power, Slim V, Wrinkle Free, Bright & Clear and Snail Charm.

Hahaha I know I look horrible! Here I have the Bright & Clear HydroGel face mask that contains whitening agents that will turn rough and dull skin into bright and clear skin. I’ve tried a similar kind of eye mask before but this is the first time I am trying a face mask. The jelly like texture feels really soft and cooling but I accidentally tore it, so make sure you handle the mask gently.

It comes in two parts, one from the forehead to the nose and the other one for the area starting from the mouth to the chin. I think it’s way too huge for my face and don’t really fit the face contour well. I had it on for about 30 minutes before removing it.

Here’s a chance for you to try out the TheNatureLab Slim V Mask! Simply redeem it here. TheNatureLab masks are available at Watsons and retails at S$17.80 for 5 pcs.

Review: Solve Dandruff Problems with CLEAR with Nutrium10

Thursday, 15 Dec 2011 by Jacelyn No Comments

Sponsored Review

More than 60% of the world suffers from dandruff and other scalp problems. Dandruff is caused by stress, diet and certain lifestyle habits. Even weather, poor hygiene, oily scalp, etc. can cause dandruff.

With the new CLEAR with Nutrium10, you can bid farewell to unsightly flakes.

Unlike other anti-dandruff shampoos that are wash-away solutions, the new CLEAR with Nutrium10 treats the root cause. It infuses the scalp with nutrients three layers deep and also helps to rebalance cell proliferation process to restore the scalp to its healthy condition.

Research has shown that there are gender differences in scalp types. Hence, CLEAR has customised their Nutrium10 formula to cater to the specific needs of men and women.

Nutrium10 for Women:

  • Offers vitamins and minerals to boost stronger hair growth
  • Gives women 3 scalp effects they desire – no dandruff, no dryness and no itch
  • More pro-vitamins and amino acids than other anti-dandruff shampoo
  • 3 times smoother hair compared to non-conditioned hair
  • 5 times less breakage and split ends compared to non-conditioned hair

Nutrium10 for Men:

  • Remove dead skin cells on the scalp’s surface
  • Restores scalp nourishment
  • Boosts scalp’s natural defence against dandruff and itch
  • 2 times faster acting results against dandruff with 50% more anti-dandruff actives vs. previous CLEAR
  • 3 times scalp strengtheners vs. CLEAR women
  • More protection from dandruff than other anti-dandruff shampoo

Clear Women Anti Hair-Fall
$9.40 for 350ml, $14.30 for 700ml

With Hair Lock Technology. For weakened scalp and hair. Strengthens from the root to tip and increases hair’s defense against hairfall and breakage.

Verdict: It was pretty easy to lather up and there was a long-lasting scent after shampooing. I do experience hair loss but since I haven’t managed to finish up the entire bottle, it’s hard to say if it did help with my hair loss or not.

Clear Women Ice Cool Menthol
$9.40 for 350ml, $14.30 for 700ml

With cooling menthol. For all scalp and hair types. Refreshes and revives scalp and hair with an invigorating burst of menthol freshness.

Verdict: My hair is pretty dry but I didn’t expect this shampoo to make my tresses even drier. I had a hard time hand combing the tangles. Also, I don’t feel any cooling sensation on my scalp either. Quite a disappointment I must say.

I had Boss to try the men series and he quite like it.

Clear Men Anti Hair-Fall
$10.30 for 350ml, $15.70 for 700ml

With Pro-strength Ginseng Technology. For weakened hair fiber. Strengthen your hair and defend against hair loss.

Clear Men Cool Sport Menthol
$10.30 for 350ml, $15.70 for 700ml

With active menthol. For all scalp and hair types. Ultimate Anti-dandruff refreshment.

Here’s the full range of the CLEAR series with Nutrium10:

  • Female Clear Smooth & Manageable
  • Female Clear Complete Soft Care 2in1
  • Female Clear Dry Scalp & Itch Control
  • Female Clear Anti Hair-Fall
  • Female Clear Ice Cool Menthol
  • Clear Men Cool Sport Menthol
  • Clear Men Anti Hair-Fall

Samples are available for redemption at TheSampleStore.

There’s a “Best Review Contest” going on now and the 3 best reviews will walk away with a CLEAR product hamper worth $50! Simply submit your review at TheSampleStore for any of the 7 types of shampoo listed above. Contest ends 31 Dec 2011. Go grab the samples now and good luck!

The CLEAR series can be found at all leading pharmacies and supermarkets.

Review: Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil + FREE Deluxe Tense Up

Friday, 18 Nov 2011 by Jacelyn 1 Comment

Sponsored Review

Fancl’s unique philosophy – ???? ?Free of additives and stressful elements.

I’ve always loved Fancl’s products. Been a fan of their washing powder and beauty supplements. Most of their products are packed for a 30-day supply to maintain its freshness. Of course, one of their best-selling products would definitely be the Mild Cleansing Oil (S$33, 120ml) (herein MCO).

All products from Fancl comes with a freshness sticker as shown in the picture above. It’s advisable to use the MCO within 120 days after opening it. It contains:

Meadow Foam Oil – Dissolves dirt in pores and removes keratin plugs which clogs up skin
Green Tea Catechin Oil – An antioxidant that combats free radicals on skin surface
Rosehip Oil – Anti-inflammatory and facilitates smooth application with minimal friction involved

Here’s how you use it:

  • Pump 2 times (or about 50-cent coin size) on dry palms
  • Smooth oil over face and gently message into makeup and grime
  • Rinse thoroughly with water

Though it did not managed to remove the K-Palette and Kate Cosmetics Eyeliners thoroughly, the MCO effortlessly dissolves and removes all other traces of makeup. It emulsifies pretty well so that it can be easily washed away with just a few splashes of water. The texture is quite light and not too thick, ensuring that there is no oily feel after washing.

It’s gonna be my new holy grail!

The Mild Cleansing Oil (S$33, 120ml) is available at all Fancl counters. And you people are in for a treat! Here are two promotions exclusively for my readers!

Promo #1:
Mention that you are a reader of daintyflair.net and get a $5 off Mild Cleansing Oil 120ml. That’s like $28 only!
* Offer valid till 30 Nov 2011. Limited to 1 regular-priced bottle (120ml) per reader. Not valid with other promotions/ discounts/ vouchers. Other T&Cs apply.

Promo #2:

Mention that you are a reader of daintyflair.net at any FANCL store islandwide and receive 2 bottles of Deluxe TenseUp after a complimentary express skin check.

Go go go! You won’t want to miss out on these offers!

Update (21 Nov 2011): Giveaway has ended. I will email the winners, thanks everyone! smile

Women who perfume themselves are extremely feminine and sexy. :love4:

Lancome has launched Tresor Midnight Rose – a mysterious, magical and sensual fragrance that has this sweet floral, charming and alluring scent. Perfectly great to use during a girls’ night out!

Here are the notes you can find in the Tresor Midnight Rose:
Raspberry and Blackcurrant – A sweet burst of fruit that teases the senses
Rose Absolute, Jasmine, Peony – A sensual, mysterious floral blend
Vanilla, Musk, Cedar – An addictive mlange that lingers on skin

Even the food looked so pretty with the purple hues, lovingly prepared by the peeps from Group Therapy.

Here’s the Tresor Midnight Rose advert endorsed by Emma Watson. She looked absolutely stunning and gorgeous!

Your thoughts and experience on love at first sight

* Giveaway is only open for those residing in Singapore
* Comments will be moderated

Ok let me start the ball rolling, it’s a secret I’ve never ever shared before lol!

I first met Boss at an ex-company and for the first few days, he was supposedly my mentor. When I first saw him, he looked like some arrogant dude sitting at a corner all by himself. I got attracted to him though haha! No idea why, but he has this unique “aura” around him LOL! There was this internal email function and I started emailing him to chit chat. Yes, I initiated first hee hee! Eventually, we got together mutually and lasted till today. Not exactly a romantic experience but still, it left a very deep impression on me. I think it was really love at first sight. *shy* :love4:

Now starting penning down your thoughts here. Looking forward to all your entries! One entry per person only and don’t cheat! Have fun! :love3:

Review: Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Range

Thursday, 10 Nov 2011 by Jacelyn No Comments

Sponsored Review

As I am writing this review, I spot a huge acne in the middle of my nose! *hides* Though I may not have acne-prone skin, I do develop acne on different parts of my face once in a while. It’s extremely frustrating and demoralizing to experience this.

But here comes Eucerin DermoPURIFYER System Care line to the rescue. All products in the range are compatible with all commonly used acne medication and suitable for all needs like minor blemishes, combination skin, oily skin, blemished skin, acne, etc.

You may not know, but the 4 main factors responsible for the formation of acne and blemished skin are:

  • Excessive sebum production
  • Clogging of pores
  • Increased bacteria proliferation
  • Inflammation

Am guilty of having clogged pores. *boo hoo*

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate (S$29.90, 30ml) is a light-weight and lightly scented serum with a watery texture. My skin absorbs it pretty quickly and it gives a very matte finish. Works best when used with Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care.

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care (S$25.90, 50ml) is an oil and fragrance free cream gel that provides the skin with moisture, leaving it really fresh and relaxed. It also effectively reduces skin blemishes and prevents the formation of new ones. Similar to the Active Concentrate, it gives a matte finish and got quickly absorbed into my skin.

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Night Care (S$25.90, 50ml) is a night moisturizer that helps rejuvenate your skin while you sleep. It also activates and improve the skin regeneration process to repair the skin’s protective outer barrier, restoring the firmness of your skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

The texture is slightly thicker than the Active Concentrate but lighter than the Hydrating Care. Based on my personal preference, I would prefer a much thicker texture which will leave my skin moisturized even until the next day.

For comparison’s sake, here’s how the textures of the 3 products look like. Pray that my acne will go away soon, though I’ve tested this range for 3 days only.

The Eucerin DermoPURIFYER range is available at most leading pharmacies, Guardian, Watsons, Unity, hospital retail pharmacies and National Skin Centre.

Redeem your FREE Eucerin Oil Control Sample set and a $3 voucher here.

Review: Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil

Thursday, 3 Nov 2011 by Jacelyn 5 Comments

Sponsored Review

Honestly, I only started using cleansing oils during my journey with Ettusais. I’ve always thought that cleansing oils are strictly meant to remove heavy makeup only but I was so wrong. And so, today’s review will be on Hada Labo’s latest product – Hydrating Cleansing Oil.

Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil contains Ultra Pure Olive Oil for effective and gentle cleansing without any irritation to the skin. It contains no fragrance, color, mineral oil, nor alcohol. Also, the Super Hyaluronic Acid gives 2X more moisture than normal hyaluronic acid. Hey, that’s a bonus!

Yes, I used to be so silly that I would throw away the plastic neck stopper without realizing it’s extremely useful! *slaps self*

The texture of the cleansing oil is pretty thick and I only had to use 2 pumps to remove all my makeup. Here’s how I use the Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil:

  • Use 2 pumps of cleansing oil on your dry palm
  • Gently massage it all over your face including your eyes area
  • Wet your hands and continue to massage to create a milky emulsion
  • Rinse it off with warm water and your face will be squeaky clean

Here’s me trying out the cleansing oil. I’m glad that it doesn’t leave any stickiness or greasy residue on my face. Skin feels smooth, clean and hydrated. Usually I only had light makeup on, I trust that the Hydrating Makeup Remover (S$17.90) will better suit me.

Honestly, this cleansing oil is great for normal makeup but not waterproof ones like the Kate eyeliner. It’s the most stubborn eyeliner I’ve ever used and I am still looking for the right makeup remover for it.

The Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil (S$20.90, 200ml) is available exclusively at Watsons nationwide from November 2011 onwards. It’s extremely value for money and will definitely last you for at least 6 months!
