From now till 31 December, Jamie’s Italian will be celebrating the holiday season with a duo of Christmas menus, featuring festive Italian classics with a Jamie Oliver twist. We had a chance to savour on the delectable lunch and dinner festive menus which are available at S$49.90++ and S$65.90++ respectively. As part of a CSR initiative, the restaurant will also be giving back this Christmas, with donations from the proceeds of all kids’ meals going towards helping the Singapore Children’s Society.
Festive Italian Pate comes with toasted ciabatta topped with silky smooth free range chicken liver & vin santo pate (wine), grated parmesan cheese and cripsy sage. The chicken liver has a rich, velvety smooth flavor and has the right amount of fat in it.
Smoked Salmon Crostini is packed full of flavour with crunchy sourdough, topped with delicious smoked salmon, herby whipped ricotta and fresh grated horseradish.
Bresaola Salad is made with slices of cured beef bresaola that has been aged 2-3 months, creamy ricotta, sliced pears, garden leaves & toasted almonds with Parmesan & aged balsamic. This dish is a crowd-pleaser and is simple and nutritious enough to be eaten as a main dish.
With the pasta freshly made daily, the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle is tossed with pan-fried Paris brown and oyster mushrooms in a garlicky porcini mushroom sauce with fresh chilli and a lemony gremolata. It was my first time trying out this unique pasta which is extremely chewy and takes eating pasta to a whole new level.
For those who prefers white meat and seafood, Sea Bass is the best choice. Together with steamed mussels and saffron aioli, it is cooked in white wine, chilli, fennel and garlic broth. The sauce has a balance of spiciness and sweetness, probably from the seafood itself and has a nice and thick consistency.
Gennaro’s Porchetta is stuffed with their secret blend of chilli, fennel, orange zest, apricot, apple and herbs. The pork belly is slow cooked overnight and then crisped up to order. Served with braised red cabbage, pan juices and smashed crackling, it is bursting with flavor with every bite of the meat.
Succulent, tender and juicy, Roasted Baby Chicken has been marinated in herbs and roasted to perfection and served with pork sausage stuffing wrapped in pancetta, proper bread sauce and lots of gravy.
All main courses above come with a side of potatoes roasted with rosemary, brussels sprouts roasted and topped with parmesan and pangrattato (herby breadcrumbs), parsnips, celeriac and squash roasted with olive oil and rosemary.
Tangy Lemon Tart has a silky smooth texture, with a buttery biscuit base and topped with vanilla cream, fresh pomegranate and mint tips. I love anything with lemon and this is totally heaven to me! tongue
Tiramisu Pavlova is a slight twist on the classic tiramisu with additional crunchy meringue, topped with a scoop of tiramisu, chocolate ice cream, crushed toasted hazelnuts and hot chocolate sauce.
White Chocolate Cheesecake is made with mascarpone cheese which results in a smoother silkier cheesecake. Consists of a crunchy amaretti biscuit base, a silky smooth clementine curd, orange segments, mint and crushed honeycomb, every bite of the cheesecake is luxuriously smooth and dense.
Both menus come with a welcome glass of bubbly and guests can also supplement their menu with a glass of limoncello for an additional S$5.50++ and a cup of coffee or tea at S$3.50++ per person.
