Review: Cosmo’s Prime Air Purifier

I cook and bake pretty often, but I don’t have a habit of opening my windows and hence, the house tends to stink a little at times. That’s when I found out about Cosmo’s Prime® Air Purifier, one of Singapore’s best-reviewed and best-selling air purifier.

First Impression

Upon unboxing, the purifier is nicely packed and protected with styrofoam. Measuring at just a height of 49.7cm, it looks extremely sleek and stylish for my home. I tend to steer towards light and minimalist designs for my house these days, so this is just perfect for it. Upon switching on, the colours on the panel changes in this sequence: Blue, Cyan, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red and Purple. Each colour indicates the quality of the air. The soothing blue light is an indication of good air quality. If it turns red, it’s a subtle warning sign that you’d probably need to do more to improve the air quality.

The digital display on the panel also indicated the number of PM2.5 particles that are currently in the air. Apart from that, there are other functions such as:

  • Mode – wind speed whereby you can select auto, high, medium or sleep
  • Timer – based on 2, 4 or 8 hours. This is extremely useful for electricity saving
  • Light – adjustment of the light emitting from the purifier.

For those with children, you would be glad that there’s a child lock function, to prevent your kids from adjusting the settings accidentally.

Medical Grade H13 HEPA Filter – Breakthrough for Allergies

The Cosmo uses a specially engineered HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) Filter, which have pores that are up to 20 times finer than the average HEPA filters. It helps to filter 99.97% of all airborne particles such as dust, hair, mould, bacteria, allergens, etc., which is especially useful for people like myself who suffer from sinusitis. Cosmo HEPA filter consists of 3 layers:

  • 1st layer: A pre-filter to intercept large suspended particles like hair, dust, lint and fur.
  • 2nd layer: A H13 HEPA filter to remove micron particles and block bacteria, pollen, pet dander and dust mites
  • 3rd layer: An activated carbon filter which neutralizes odours in the air and absorbs formaldehyde

Maintenance

It doesn’t take much effort nor time to clean the air purifier. Simply use a damp, soft cloth to wipe the filter regularly to ensure it’s kept in the best condition. It is also recommended to change the filter every 12 to 18 months.

Cosmo’s SilentMotor-VX™ Technology

SilentMotor-VX allows even the lightest sleepers to fall into deep, rejuvenating sleep. It uses trademarked technology and smart design to provide a long-lasting, silent and powerful air purifier. Equipped with the SilentMotor-VX™ the Cosmo Air Purifier functions so quietly, you’d forget it was even there.

Smart Mobile Application

They even have a free mobile application to control and manage the air purifier remotely from our phone. Air quality data, etc. are collected in the app, which makes it extremely convenient for home users to learn how well their air quality is. Though unfortunately I encountered a challenge while trying to connect to the app due to connection issues, so I haven’t been able to fully utilize the features of the purifier even though I have done various troubleshooting methods myself.

No Risk 20 Day Trial

Ordering the product is a breeze too, you can even choose to have it delivered within the same day. They even provide a No Risk 20 Day Trial, where you can choose to return the product within 20 days for a full refund with no questions asked. Of course, certain terms and conditions are applicable, so do read through them before purchasing. smile

Cosmo’s Prime® Air Purifier retails at $538 but with the current promo of 26%, you will only be paying $399 for it! This review is brought to you by Cosmo & Best in Singapore.
