I haven’t been blogging about Mystery Makan for the longest time, since last year I think oops! bigsmile It was my turn to bring the mystery makan girls to Bodacious Bar & Bistro for brunch! It was located in a quiet location at Biopolis Street, a tad too far for the easties lol! tongue But this cafe is too pretty to be missed!
The cafe has a modern industrial design which is pretty popular these days. Serving all day breakfast, the menu is pretty simple and wallet-friendly.
A cup of mocha for me, ok but not aromatic enough. Coffee in Singapore definitely can’t be compared to Australia’s. sad
The Fatty Duck Confit ordered by Esther was so nicely presented. The skin was marvelously light, crispy and the duck meat has a tender bite to it. It has a balanced amount of fat without being too cloying.
BFF ordered the Steak which was nicely grilled on the outside and nice & tender on the inside. I think I can have steak everyday! smile
Fidelis and I ordered the Pulled Pork Burger where the lean meat was stripped and coated with citrus spicy apple BBQ sauce, paired with fresh greens. I think they can do better with the buns which are too plain.
Truffle Fries, too ordinary and nothing special.
Churros! A tad too oily for me.
My favourite photo with the girls! heart

I reckon Changi City Point would be a good place to meet since the four of us stay in the east. I happened to know about Table Manners and made reservations for dinner!
I love the minimalistic decor of the restaurant, very simple and chic. It got so much hype online but I was kinda disappointed with the food, particularly the mains. Bad choice.
Three Little Pigs
[rate 1.5]
Literally. Both BFF and I chose this dish. We opted out of the mashed potato cos we were on low carb diet then. It took me around 10 bites to finish everything and still feel extremely hungry lol. Pathetic portion. Have I mentioned it’s S$16 for this?! -___-
Fidel’s Mary’s Little Lamb.
Esther’s Arcadian Chicken.
According to the two ladies, their dishes were delicious. iSuay.
Thankfully, the desserts sorta made up for the horrible dinner. We had Creme Brulee, Sea Salt Chocolate Caramel Tart, Lemon Cheesecake and Strawberry Shortcake. Desserts make me happy. smile
Hello, you delicious thing. smile

BFF and Skai got married on 10.11.12! bigsmile
2012 seems to be the year of engagement/marriage for bloggers including myself lol! tongue
The solemnization was held in the capsule at Singapore Flyer. Very cosy as it can only accommodate 26 people and it was being decorated according to the couple’s preference. We were there in the evening to capture the lovely sunset, a very beautiful moment to remember. smile
With our mystery makan buddies, Esther and Fidelis! heart
There were little nibbles and canapes for us to noms! Extremely droolworthy but I didn’t get to eat much. sad
Polaroids and guestbook to send our wishes to the lovely couple! =)
The solemnization started with their vows and ended with a champagne toast for the couple. smile We were then ushered to O’Learys for a buffet dinner. Very well pampered by the couple hehe!
Definitely one of the most memorable weddings I have ever attended. Congrats BFF and Skai! Wishing the both of you a blissful married life and all the happiness in the world! =) Check out BFF’s blog for more pictures of the wedding!

Update (15 May 2013): Ardent’s CafeBar has ceased operations.
It was Esther’s turn to plan for Mystery Makan! Check out our previous mystery makan sessions!

Pretty interior of the cafebar. smile
Eggs Blackstone
Two eggs poached on a toasted English muffin with grilled bacon and hollandaise sauce
I have to say the hollandaise sauce was fab! It has a light lemony taste, very refreshing and unique!
Eggs Benedict
Two eggs poached on a toasted English muffin with honey baked ham and hollandaise sauce
Pretty similar to Eggs Blackstone but it was ham instead of bacon.
Ardent’s Freestyle
Their big breakfast where you get to mix and match 5 items from the menu according to your preference. =)
Golden Shower
Okay, I had to write about this. According to BFF, Golden Shower is a practice of urinating on another person for sexual pleasure. *HORRIFIED* Esther’s friend had ordered the drink without knowing LOLOLOL! We all had a good laugh! Needless to say, the drink was left untouched hahaha! Though I’m shocked that they would actually use this name.
We went outside to take some pictures. Very pretty place! =)
Me and silly Boss on the garden swing! <3

She had given us a dress code – Retro. Don’t really know what to wear, so decided to go with bright and pop colors. smile Turns out the mystery makan is at Old School Delights!

Boss and I! Not very retro hor? Hahaha! tongue

Menu on a chalkboard!

Spotted this at the entrance. Retro games and whatnot!

Anyone remembers Happy Family? Used to play this and Old Maid, zero point, hopscotch and the list goes on! Proud to be an 80’s baby. =D

Very cute mural on the wall. Lolol “All the kaypohs”. How true!

Menu comes in the form of a school notebook.

Retro aluminium cup!

We wrote our orders on a whiteboard!

Here’s our fooood! We ordered nasi lemak, chicken curry, mee siam, laksa, kueh pie tee, iced milo and barley with lime. Nobody wanted to eat the kueh pie tee I ordered lol! =(

One last photo before we left the cafe. Thanks BFF for this mystery makan, brought back lots of childhood memories! =)

Love the interior of the cafe, it looks like a mini castle. We managed to catch a glimpse of the sunset too! smile

Valentine’s Day pressie from Fidel! Love the oreo truffles she made for us, darn yummy!

We ordered the set meal at S$30++ which comes with a salad, soup, main dish and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream!

Happy us and our food! bigsmile

My outfit of the day. I brought the Hello Kitty bag that BFF bought for me from Taiwan! Sibeh act cute hor LMAO! tongue Feel like strangling myself after seeing this picture heh!
