Review: The Marmalade Pantry at the Stables

BFF brought me to The Marmalade Pantry at the Stables for a food tasting session. In fact, this was one of the locations that I had shortlisted for my ROM! But it was in a remote location and accessibility is an issue, so I had to drop the idea. sad The restaurant is located at Fairways Drive, giving a very chic and country-style feel and away from the bustling city crowd. Overall, I had a great time there. smile

Check out the chic decor of the restaurant! I think it’s a great place to chill out and relax. Here are some of my favorite dishes!

Pan Seared Haloumi with Roma Tomatoes and Watercress Herb Salad (S$21)

What a mouthful! We mistook the Haloumi cheese for tau kwa haha! The cheese has a slight smoky and salty taste, very firm to the bite. The combination of the fresh and juicy tomatoes makes this dish very refreshing and healthy!

Crabmeat Linguini (S$22)

Was on a low carb diet, so I didn’t touch this dish. But I’ve eaten this during my first visit to The Marmalade Pantry like 5 years ago? I still remember the taste of it haha! They are really generous with the crabmeat portion! Wish I can eat this again. =( Can they just gimme the crabmeat? tongue

Crispy Pork Belly (S$32)

Pork belly! The meat is really tender and juicy but a bit too greasy for my liking. Too much fat makes me go ewww, but BFF seems to like it a lot hehehe! surprised

Steak and Eggs (S$38)

Haven’t eaten steak for such a long time! The meat was really well grilled, flavorful, tender and juicy. The truffled mushy peas is something new to me, I’ve only tried truffle fries though. Still can’t quite get used to the taste of truffle.

Moving on to my favorite part of the meal, DESSERTS! bigsmile

Limonata, Red Velvet (S$4.50 each) and HummingBird (S$4.80)

Cupcakes are so popular right now that new shops are popping up everywhere! My favourite has gotta be Limonata, a lemon glazed cupcake that is really light, fluffy and moist. The tangy lemon cream is so yummy!

Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding (S$12)

This dessert is highly raved by many food reviewers and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The sticky date pudding is really soft and moist, paired with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled with toffee sauce. Perfect combination!

Lemon Brulee Tart (S$14)

HO MAI GAWD THIS IS DA BOMB! I LOVEEEEE lemon curd and this is the best dessert of the night! Think tangy lemon curd, buttery tart, caramelized sugar crust and vanilla bean ice cream all combined into one!

I had such a wonderful dining experience. Think I might go back again for the Lemon Brulee Tart and also to chill and relax! smile
